Amo Roma Trattoria Pizzeria

6 April 2006, 16:47

mmm celebration dinner at Amo Roma (135 George Street, The Rocks). if youre planning on going here ask to sit inside and not in that room near the entrance cos that room feels weird… like reallllli strange vibe… like ghost vibe… or bathroom vibe… yes.

first up tuna al carpaccio ($19)

mmm thinly sliced eye fillet of tuna with shaved parmesan, extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice and cracked black pepper woo baby this was sooo good! look at the parmesian!!! the tuna was salty but matched realli well with the huge mound of rocket and mmm i love rocket but woah bit of an excess of oil

for my mains i got a small al salmon pizza ($20)

it was supposed to have cream cheese but i couldnt taste it (lol i need extra cheese man!) and there were ribbons of smoked salmon, huge chunks of avocado and slices of red capsicum. the red capsicum was weird man but the pizza base was near perfect for a thin crust

noods got the fettucine vonogole ($26)

it weirds me out that the pasta was brown.. whenever i see any form of noodles brown i automatically think theres soysauce in it so when i taste it my brain gets confused and thinks it should be way salty… the baby clams were so soft and buttery and noods was digging thru his pile of shells looking for more…

and dessert. ah dessert is my most favourite part of the meal! i ordered the lemon meringue pie ($9.50)

have you ever seen those lemon meringue pies in cafes with a huge mound of meringue and a teensy squidgen of pastry base? yeah thats what this was like. woah so sweet but sooo preeetty!

and noods ordered the chocolate raspberry cheesecake ($9.50)

the cheesecake was realli dense. asin so dense you eat one forkful and youre full as youre stomach tries to digest that one morsel of CREAM…

  1. wooaaa. dribble that dessert looks sooo good. mmm sugar
