happy mothers day to all the mums out there! me and noods’ family went to Temasek (71 George St, Parramatta next to the Roxy) and ordered the set menu.
da extended family!
first out was the Boneless Hainanese Chicken with strips of ham
for some reason the parentals like the ham but i find it weird to mix different bits of animal flesh
then Curry Chicken
didnt actually get to try this because i was waaay too interested in the other dishes
then Kecap Manis Calamari
ditto
then Stuffed Whole Snapper
this was interesting they dug out the insides of the fish and stuffed it with a mixture of prawn n fish. i liked the crispy fish skin but not so much the insides
then Ho Chien (oyster omellete)
MY FAVOURITE!!! but boy was it spicy! but so good! but so spicy… mmm they use water chestnut flour and theres many globules of fresh oysters floating around
then Kangkong
noods’ favourite (even if you DO say it like an aussie kaaankung hehe)
then Fried Hokkien Mee with Prawns
this was a little too soupy for me but it was realli tasty
then Almond Butter King Prawns
MY 2ND FAVOURITE!!! ohhh the soft sweet fluffy mass that sits atop those ginormouse king prawns are GOLD! gold that melts in your mouth! mmm i could eat just that with rice…
dessert was a giant bowl of ice kachang and in my attempts to ensure i didnt get a bowl of just grass jelly i forgot to take a foto! argh so this was my bowl which my brother made specially for me (miniscule bits of grass jelly, even less miniscule bits of red bean, lots of pink and brown ice and those clear round things)
happy mothers day mum!!! thank you for everything! dont we look alike!?!?
