i managed to get the entertainment book for the parramatta area from audrey (thanks audz!) and me n noods wanted a relatively cheap dinner so we decided to use the buy 1 main get 2nd main free coupon at Atlantis Seafood Restaurant (58 – 62 Delhi Rd, North Ryde).
Atlantis is on the ground level of Somerset Serviced Apartments, opposite Riverside Corporate Park and let me tell you those apartments must belong to the super rich… there were groups of women eating dinner that night all dressed up in short black dresses with a hell of a lot of bling, all talking about shares, boats, holidays and corporate events before leaving to watch desperate housewives.
but enough about them, on to the food! we got a free entree but the waiter dude didnt exactly tell us what it was he just plonked it down and said ‘its complimentary’ and whooshed away. but it was sexy. i think it was fresh tuna with salsa on a mini disk of shortbread.
for mains i ordered the Atlantic Salmon Fillet with Pesto dressing, served with roasted vegetables ($32)
the salmon was cooked perfectly but i didnt like how when i cut into the salmon it would sink into the vegetable mush… hmm not enough salmon too much vegies!
noods ordered the special of Coral Trout Fillet Poached in saffron broth, served with broccolini, sugar snaps and aioli ($33)
noods said the coral trout was ‘ok… but not realli worth it for the price’
the reason we chose to come here was the Degustation Desserts for Two ($33)
oh baby oh baby lookit lookit! closest was poached pear topped with cream cheese, chocolate brulee tart with vanilla bean icecream, rum & raisin icecream, berry sorbet and some weird green marzipan and pistachio icecream, the waiter dude didnt even know what the other two were but the next one was like a poppyseed friand and the last one wasnt that nice but oooh yummy chocolate tart….
Back to home
That dessert plate is awesome, I could have happily had that all to myself. Although sharing would make me look less like a pig.
— jenjen Jun 24, 01:51 AM #I stayed at the Somerset Serviced Apartments on Sussex Street for about six days when i first arrived in Sydney from London last year. It was actually quite reasonable – i found a good deal on the internet. It’s good for people who don’t want to feel like they’re away from home/in a hotel – having one’s own kitchen facilities is a big plus. Ironic that i’m not much of a cook, eh?
Those pics look great! If i’m ever in North Ryde, i’ll know where to go.
— JadedLotus Jun 24, 07:42 AM #ooh that dessert platter looks like my kinda banquet. And the Ent Book! Long may it reign!
— Helen Jun 25, 02:05 AM #goodness. forget dinner, just go for dessert.

— chocolatesuze Jun 27, 07:59 PM #jadedlotus: we saw people getting food delivered to their room! noods was like lets live here and then you dont have to cook lol
