what exactly is beard papas? when i first heard that name i was like err some old dude with a beard? i never thought it would be a japanese chain of outlets selling cream puffs! a quick google search brought “Beard Papa takes an all-natural approach—no preservatives added. It’s a double crust incorporating a traditional choux (cream puff shell) and a pie crust-type dough. The combination produces both softness and a degree of crunch.’ WOW. that description along with GrabYourFork’s mouthwatering fotos made me want to coerce noods into driving 1 whole hour into chatswood!
Beard Papa’s Sweets is located at K353a Chatswood Westfield (1 Anderson Street, Chatswood) and is quite hard to find if youre not a local. when we found the store i was laughing at how the world of food blogging could make me travel so far to try pastry heh but it was soooo worth it!

the prices were
1 puff: $2.50
6 puffs: $12.00
12 puffs: $20.00
i asked noods ‘should i get 6 or 12?’ and he surprisingly replied ‘12, ill eat some’. which brought forth raised eyebrows since he doesnt have the same sugar cravings i get but hell who was i to argue it just means all the more for me later on heh

it was onli until he saw them pump in the vanilla bean custard cream that he says ‘holy crap theyre ginormous!’ ‘well… yeah… what did you expect?’ ‘those realli small ones from chinatown!’ HAHA no way are they that small theyre like 3 times as huge! and tastier! mmm you cannot go wrong with cream. (unless of course its fake cream. ugh fake cream is gross man)

mmm custardy innards are soooo good! chocolate puffs are pretty good too but i think i prefer the vanilla. man must make a return visit veri soon!
Back to home
man…i sooo thought they were the tiny ones…i was thinking $2.50 was alot for one cream puff…
— noods Jun 25, 01:06 AM #lol. what a lucky break that noods made a wrong guess on the portion size! Cream puffs for every… hour… yay!
ps. I agree. Vanilla rocks.
