after a hectic day at work me n noods headed to Blakes Restaurant (1/33 Terminus st, Castle Hill). We were planning on using the Entertainment book voucher for the mains so we decided that the ‘saved’ money could be spent on the entree platter for 2ppl ($29)
and it was loaded with all these goodies! fresh king prawns, yabbies, caramelised pork, tender chicken skewers, creamed mushroom shots, and the toast to go with the very tasty crab pot.
for my mains i was feeling very meaty so decided on the ribeye ($33)
look at all the meat! i wanted to pick it up by the bone and fling it around the room like fred flintstone! but it was gooood with nice charcoaly edges and squishy bits of fat with flesh almost tasting like wagyu. i got a choice of either dianne or pepper sauce but since im very undecisive i managed to get both heh
noods ordered his kangaroo
he claims this is the 2nd best kangaroo hes ever had (best is at eat city). that round thing on the right is a giantass mushroom stuffed with tomato bits. both our mains came with mash potato and a quaint little side dish of steamed vegies.
dessert time! feeling very very full we could not pass up the dessert platter ($20)
and it arrived on FIRE! well no its just a sparkler but oooh i havent played with sparklers since i was a kid! platter contained flourless chocolate cake, lemon cheesecake, dark chocolate mousse, creme brulee, strawberry gelato, passionfruit halves and strawberries.
Back to home
Hah! I love my entertainment book – seriously, how good are those vouchers? All those dishes are amazing, but my sweet tooth is making me stare at the dessert platter, mmm!
