its been aaaagees since i last went to shangrila hotel but posts from helen and emily saw me quickly emailing bday girl amie and off we went armed with cameras and empty stomaches for a buffet lunch at Cafe Mix ($38 during jan)

me and amie
i arrived a bit earli and found no customers anywhere which meant: beyooootifully untouched food presentations!

fresh oysters, giant prawns and halved crabs with their legs in the air…

cold pastas, smoked salmon, mozzarella cheese n tomatos

at cafe mix they have 4 stations: japanese, indian, chinese and italian and i couldnt help but think iron chef japanese! iron chef chinese! haha but the japanese chef was a bit grumpy and unfriendly

iron chef cafe mix italian! this dude was uber jolly and look hes making fresh pasta and hanging them near the window! there was also a fantastic steamed fish dish and some giant sized mushrooms with cheese on his station

mmm fresh bread

indian section with papadums, uber hot curries and basmati rice

the neatest salad section i have ever seen

antipastos

pickled stuff

complimentary Tiro Italian Blood Orange sparkling drink

happy birthday dude!!!
and now the moment you have been waiting for… dessert time!!!

the fantastic chocolate fountain complete with squishy marshmallows and fresh fruit

pineapple jelly with cream shots, mango mousse glasses, bowls of fresh cream, mango coulis

macarons!!! (and how mad is the box) but macarons! fluffy crunchy morsels of tastiness! i couldnt really tell if they had different flavours but i liked shoving a whole one into my mouth and wait for it to go crunch flooooof mmmm i think i managed to eat 9 (3 of each colour because i wanted to be fair and not pick on just the one color)

mmm cakes… chocolate gateau, chocolate brownie, almond brittle and cheesecake

mmm more cakes… tiramisu, massive creme caramel and sugar cookies

mmm more and more cakes… pavlova with fresh cream, rocky road, strawberry mousse cake

gelato! blueberry, rockmelon, honeydew and some undistinguishable yellow flavour…

so full all the sugar making us go crazzzzy heh to celebrate the increase of a year to amies age we show our true age…

me tea

i liked the wall… i wanna do that with my room but instead fill each cube with candy

cheesies
