norwest lakeside has quite a few restaurants in this quietish area. theres Trevi Lakeside Restaurant which has top notch fine italian food thats a lil pricey but with great service, Tokio Fans a japanese restaurant with fantastic sashimi salads but not so great mains and on and off service, a vietnamese restaurant which had shockingly poor vietnamese food, another italian restaurant which had not very tasty mains and last but not least Iso Lounge

the atmosphere here is a little more laid back and casual and theres even a giant tv that gets turned on during origin nights.

Moroccan Lamb Cutlets on eggplant rissoni with Turkish filoette ($17). the lamb cutlets were so very tasty full of charcoaly goodness that left me gnawing at the bone becos im sooo classy. noods liked the little filo cases with the tomato salsa filling declaring them to taste like nachos… without cheese

Oven Roasted Cashew Chicken with potato gnocchi, zucchini spaghetti, tomato and bocconcini ($27). our mains took a while longer to arrive because the singular waitress was run off her feet while the 2 managers were having a pow wow dinner. we decided to eat here solely because i like cashews my favourite nut (followed by macadamia)! when i read the description on the menu i was hoping for the chicken to be stuffed with the boccocini and for whole cashews to be scattered everywhere but unfortunately the cashews were kinda ground up and shoved into the chicken and the boccocini lay outside the chicken freezing cold straight from the fridge on a bed of equally cold tomato puree. and i dont remember eating any gnocchi and the zucchini spaghetti was more like zucchini strips interesting but not very filling

Atlantic Salmon Poached in a Garamasala broth with saffron angel hair pasta, crisp snowpeas and golden shallots ($28)
noods scarfed this down not because it was tasty but because he was hungry haha the salmon was pretty good a little tough for us as we’ve become used to barely cooked salmon however the garamasala broth did not go well with the fish it totally killed the fish man! pasta was weird kinda tasted like instant noodles…

Trio of Sweets Includes Chocolate Lava Pudding, White Chocolate Lemon Cheesecake and Homemade ice-creams ($20). when we asked the waitress what was on the cheese platter she told us “a blue vein cheese, camemberet and um… hang on ill go check…” she runs back later and says “oh we dont have a third cheese so we have to go next door TO THE OTHER RESTAURANT AND BORROW SOME OF THEIR CHEESE” i capsed the last bit becos i was in shock that she would even tell a customer that. i mean dude! who tells ppl that? so erm rather than risk the unknown cheese platter we ordered the trio of sweets which led her to remark “oh good choice the kitchen hates doing the cheese platter!” so im thinking greeeat im so glad we didnt get the cheese platter… and then we waited. and waited. and then she came and told us our chocolate lava pudding EXPLODED so they had to make a new one… but she gave us 50% off our dessert becos it was taking them so long

Lemon cheesecake pyramid. this was weird. a little too rubbery for my liking but it tasted like the inside icing from arnotts lemon biscuits…

Homemade icecreams. youd think 3 scoops of icecream would mean 3 different types huh?

Chocolate Molten Lava Pudding MMM this was great i shouldve taken an innards shot of this but i was so busy demolishing it but it is the most perfect lava pudding ive had in ages! i left this baby to last to savour but was unfortunately distracted by the waitress dancing around the front of the restaurant kissing her boyfriend when there was still 3 tables there! dude not professional at least dance around in the side booths not 3m from us!

such an unique waiters!honest…honest… for a fine dining/ala carte restaurant and the service was like dat.. hmm.. bit ‘overwhelming’ lol. i mean, when i was a waiter, occasionally i did forgot the ingredients or some weird food slank/terms becoz it’s in Italian or french! but i wont tell my guest, we run our the 3rd cheese and need to borrow it from the other restaurant! heheh. HILLARIOUS.
