after the foodbloggers meetup at yumcha, the boy who had driven me into the city and hung around at his work guilt tripped me into having a second lunch with him and so i found myself at his favourite pub since uni days

lansdowne hotel (2-6 City Rd, Chippendale) park at broadway shopping centre for free 2 hrs parking

the lansdowne hotel is probably best known for its $5meals and for a handful of change you can get pretty decent meals (you have to buy a drink to get the $5meal). offerings include nachos, burgers, fish n chips but the star here is the steak! i wasnt expecting much for a $5 steak thinking eh itll be tiny and most likely tasteless and im kinda full so ill order one and see how we go but oh boy oh boy it was fantastic! way better than some restaurants where you pay $20-$30 the boy got upset when he realised i was chomping thru my steak pretty fast because he was counting on me being full so he could eat my steak hahaha unlucky =D

mmm steaky
Back to home
HaHAhaha! You are so funny! You eat more than anyone I’ve ever met!
— Reemski Oct 20, 08:58 PM #Ahhh, so there’s the famous steak!!! It’s smaller than I thought… but still too big to eat after yum cha and ice cream! :)
— Christie @ Fig & Cherry Oct 20, 09:38 PM #No wonder you left the mashed potato! I don’t know where all that food goes, you’re so svelte.
— belle Oct 20, 11:57 PM #argh. i wantttttt! $5?! freaking cheap!
— nadnut Oct 21, 12:28 AM #OMG! Lansdowne!! Its been years since I went. Must make a trip out there one day. If you ever go again, walk up city road to Toby’s Estate for the best coffee you’ll ever have! I drive out there just for a cup of coffee ;)
— SoRMuiJAi Oct 21, 12:37 AM #Hahaha… how do you do it? I can’t believe you had steak after yumcha… lol

— jenny Oct 22, 02:03 AM #Ahhh lansdowne so close to uni hee hee I am not too big a fan but for about $7-8 can’t really complain much haha.
BUT once when we went there, one of us ordered the Minestrone soup and that was absolutely DREADFUL… like leftovers chucked into a big pot and stewed… so never order soup there.

— chocolatesuze Oct 23, 11:39 PM #ffichiban: lol i never order minestrone soup cos it never tastes as good as when you make it yourself heh
