when people say the word ikea they think of the maze-like store with the diy furniture, the giant bright yellow plastic bags available to carry your impulse buys and the tiny pencils with the cardboard tape measures. but when i hear the word ikea i think of their food. i mean sure, you wouldnt go out of your way to eat there but when youve spent several hours wandering around dodging the hordes sometimes all you want is something cheap and tasty

like the meatballs! the meatballs are awesome! i got the regular sized meatballs (15 for $7.50) and somehow got fries instead of mash but that was ok because the fries were crispy crunchy golden rods of potato but the star of the show were the meatballs! they don’t look like much but they were slightly crispy on the outside but super soft and moist on the inside and oh so very tasty with the gravy and the dollop of lingonberry sauce mmm nom nom

the boy and his mum chose the fish and chips ($5.95) there may have been more breading/crumbing than actual fish but the serving was generous and the plate is almost overflowing with peas and chips

dessert time makes me happy! slice of daim cake with a daim candy ($3.95) i usually buy the whole cake from the ikea store downstairs and a packet of daim candy to munch on the way home =P
Back to home
How cool! I would never have thought to have blogged Ikea. Would this perhaps be the first of its kind…?
