yaya chou's gummi chandelier

7 March 2009, 03:08

it LOOKS like any random funky style chandelier…

but OMFG check it out it’s made of gummy bears!!! Yaya Chou explores the relationship between food consumption and class. The bright colors and soft texture of children’s snacks construct a romantic scenario which draws my attention to the dangerous ingredient behind them. By rearranging the embellished snacks in the forms of luxury commodity, I wish to pose the questions: Who consume these foods? Who has the choice to choose? i choose gummi furniture and decorations!

  1. That would have taken some willpower to put together. For me this would have been a perpetually unfinished project cause while I’d be building up one side, the other side would receed due to ‘quality assurance’ testing.

  11. Homer: Ooh, Gummi bears! Gummi calves’ heads! Gummi jaw breakers!
(Sees a Gummi figure rotating on a red pillow in a glass case.)
    Homer: (Lustily) Ohh…What’s that?
Man: That is the rarest Gummi of them all, the Gummi Venus de Milo, carved by Gummi artisans who work exclusively in the medium of Gummi.
Marge: Will you two stop saying “Gummi” so much?
