it started with the food bloggers saying they had never visited the Eveleigh markets. and then to visiting me for their biscotti supply. and then to having lunch. and so one bright sunny day Shez, Karen and FFichiban rocked up to the markets with cameras at hand and after photographing and tasting everything in sight and making off with my biscuits we trooped along to Blackbird Cafe (Cockle Bay Wharf Level 1 Balcony, 201 Sussex St) where i immediately order a strongbow…

heh it’s my ‘beer’ of choice lol

quattro formaggi ($22.90). i added pumpkin to my 4 cheeses pizza because i needed a vegetable to even out the dairy. shame it was just slices of pumpkin tho because i was hoping for nuggets of pumpkin. nuggets i say!

fish and chips ($19.90). shez has ordered the fish and chips even tho she has just bought a smoked salmon for dinner claiming a white fish is different to pink fish uhm /nods heh

caesar salad with cajun prawns ($19.90). karen has opted for the more healthy option and immediately dumps her parmesan cheese onto my pizza woohoo making it a 5 cheese pizza!

fishermans platter ($24.90). ffichiban’s platter arrives and i stare with food envy at the battered prawns

but then it’s off to lindt and i spy a giant macaron in the cake window mmm macaron

not quite sure of the full name um but the filling was chocolate and hazelnut and was double the size of their normal macarons/delice but it was sadly a little soggy on the top from being in the refrigerated section and while i made it about halfway thru eating it like a hamburger with 2 hands i started feeling a little sugared out and swiped at it in small forkfuls until all that was left was a feeling of ergh that was sweet

shez of course has gotten the waffles. she likes waffles. alot. start a sentence with hey so about waffles and she will immediately proclaim her love for waffles. especially her penguin waffle maker which i so desperately want lol

HEH HEH ffichiban. taking a shot of karens macarons. LOL LOL LOL
Back to home
Hahahaha love the pics!
— Reemski Mar 23, 01:57 PM #did someone say waffles? and haaa at FFichiban’s camera in bag. it looked so innocuous when i did it with my mini point&shoot…
— shez Mar 23, 01:59 PM #I think you need to patent that holding a macaron/cake/anything sweet looking down contemplating signature pose. :)
— billy@ATFT Mar 23, 02:03 PM #Bahahaha healthy option?!!! As healthy as I’ll get with bacon, eggs, anchovies and lots of creamy mayo dressing. nods head healthy indeed. Go FFichiban (can’t wait to see that photo)
— Karen Mar 23, 02:51 PM #Haha anime pose! Esp with your hair too hee hee :P You should had taken a prawn XP! and LOL that last photo is horrible
— FFichiban Mar 23, 03:04 PM #You…Sugared out? No way…I am in disbelief =P
— Chris Mar 23, 03:29 PM #Looks like you all had much fun. And sugar. Oh sweet sweeeet sugar.
I am in admiration of Shez’s multi-tasking coordination — pouring the chocolate money shot and taking the photo at the same time! Nice!
— Helen Mar 23, 04:03 PM #Again with the innocent/solemn/pensive food shot. Surprised you didn’t composite in angel wings & a halo :P
Lol to FFichiban’s photo too!
Sounds like it was a fun time catching up with the fellow bloggers :)
— Simon Mar 23, 06:17 PM #I am speechless when it comes to the macaroon. Here in the states a macaroon is coconut, which I love, but yours would be to die for. I have never had anything remotely close. Yummy…drool…..stomach growl…….
— BethieofVA Mar 23, 11:16 PM #reemski: heh thanks dude!
— chocolatesuze Mar 24, 12:09 AM #shez: waffles! you are waffle girl!
billy: ah but noone else even puts their pics on their blogs lol i only do it cos i look funny when i look straight into a camera…
karen: heh cant believe you ate all the biscotti!
ffichiban: aw but it’s funny =P and that shot turned out great!
chris: lol not to worry i ate it all! just felt a lil hyper the rest of the arvo
helen: yeh shez has mad skillz! she had already started pouring and taking photos at the same time it didnt occur to me to ask if she wanted help haha
simon: lol me innocent? ah lies! heh we should meetup too!
bethieofva: ah we have macaroons too but i dun like coconut. a macaron is made from almond meal/flour and egg whites and sandwiches a layer of icing. i heard macarons were a big thing in the states after cupcakes?
No doubt our paths will eventually cross… :)
I’ll have to come visit when I’m in the area.
