good food and wine show day 3

day 3 of the good food and wine show and the tiredness has well and truely kicked in. thankfully reinforcements in the form of the father unit + the boy later on in the arvo means random walkies around the exhibition centre. the parentals went to watch a free gordan ramsay show in the morning and i went to see toby puttock with the awesome aptronym and a random lady i gave a ticket too bwahaha it’s fun to give away free stuff! follow me on twitter for random thoughts and the occasional giveaway!


but first, something to kick off the morning- milk chocolate shots ($2) from adora chocolates mmm melty chocolatey goodness

lunch at the Linderman’s Early Harvest Restaurant where the chance to sit down with proper cutlery and gorgeously presented food is always a highlight of the show. i had picked the glazed salmon with spinach and radish salad ($24) from Gordon Ramsay which comes with a glass of Lindemans Early Harvest Semillon Sauvignon Blanc. the salmon was a tad on the small side but that could be because i was starving for some ‘real food’ since i had been existing on chocolate bars and bags of chips back at the stall.


the boy gets the veal osso bucco ($24) from Tobie Puttock which comes with a glass of Lindemans Reserve cabernet merlot. the merlot was a fail to our untrained palates hah but the osso bucco is tender and the plate is soon empty


dessert was a raspberry tart with champagne sabayon ($8) from Matt Moran. while the pastry was a little rock hard the tart filling was delicious and i loved the slightly tart raspberries which meant it wasnt too sweet (yup i was really sugared out!)


a wander around and spotted these cute lil donuts from buzz me but sadly didnt have time to return and try em


had a quick peek at the wine theatre which was pretty packed for the wine tastings


and then shez came by and thus began the alcomohol tastings! the awesome dude from fresita winery was super nice and did a split pack for us and chucked in a free bottle each for us when we said bye to him on the way out woohoo!


shez had bought heaps of stuff so a ride home was bartered for help packing up heh heh like our super sexy orange safety vests?


and last but not least a pic of my haul! majority of stuff was free from the delicious magazine goodie bag and some product swaps with the other exhibitors heh and lol thanks to simon for telling everyone to bring me energy drinks heh heh aptonym and trina brought me enough to last me for a week! also, thanks for everyone who visited me on day 3: shez, steph, belle, leona, trish, betty, lili, betty, reem, rachel, justine and sheree!

15. Such comprehensive posts! Thanks for the free tix and we loved your biscotti! The gluten free ones were very appreciated by my gluten intolerant friend and the date and walnut ones were long scoffed before any cheese was introduced into the equation! Could def do with some more! :)
