singapore part 2- nuffnang awards

The event that everyone has been waiting for- the Nuffnang Awards! Everyone was all dolled up in suits and pretty dresses and of course with ginormous dslrs


The awards were held in the Pan Pacific Singapore Grand Ballroom which was all sexy shiny and super glitzy. Considering the Aussie contingent were pretty minor it was awesome that the aussies won 3 out of the 11 categories- congrats to Mr Gadget, Lady Melbourne and Childhood 101 and props to Eat Show and Tell for the nomination in Best Food Blog (did you guys hear us cheering like hooligans when you were called out?) Ringo, Kenny, me. Meeting Ringo and Kenny was the highlight of my night. Oh yes i’m totally serious. i’ve followed these guys blogs for so long that i feel like i know them. It didn’t help that i’m a slightly fanatical follower of Malaysian Dreamgirl and was cheering for Ringo the whole time lol


me and Wendy aka Xiaxue. And of course who in the blogging world DOESN’T know Xiaxue? She managed to pick up 3 awards and got kanye-d by KennySia

Soup: Light cream of asparagus and green peas topped with a chive mousseline


Entree: Marinated smoked tuna with feta, herb salad and balsamic olive oil


Mains: Rosemary marinated chicken breast with saffron cheesy mash, potato and balsamic reduction, Mediterranean vegetable in mango coriander salsa sauce


Dessert: Praline hazelnut gateau with raspberry jelly

  1. Wearing a suit in Singapore is really painful I must say…but like that’d stop you :D

    I’ve always found it ironic how in SG they serve Western food at events and in Aus they often go for the Asian-fusion approach…

  7. the ninja: hehe yeah suit could be bad but we were in air conditioned bus to hotel and was at night so not too hot and lol i agree with ya about the food!
