OH HAI! Ok i promise dudes this is the last post for Singapore i swear! Across the road from the Link hotel was this awesome kuih and biscuit shop and Helen and i would stop by pretty much every day that we were in Singapore to buy some kuihs to snack on. About 3 hours before leaving for the airport we decided to stock up on some biscuits to bring home hoho this is our combined haul of biscuits mmm

Tiong Bahru Galicier Pastry (Block 55, Tiong Bahru Rd, 01-39)

Trays upon trays of colourful Nonya kuih line the glass counter. Onde onde, kuih lapis, kuih dadar, kuih salat…

Biscuits galore! There were pineapple tarts, peanut cookies, cornflake biscuits, kuih bangkit (pandan and coconut), biscotti and tubs of homemade kaya! We seriously considered buying a tub and eating it in the hotel with a spoon. We so should have done it Helen!

And now for some random foods i ate: Red Ruby! Aka water chestnuts that have been coated in tapioca starch and food colouring and then boiled till crunchy and served with coconut milk and heaps of shaved ice

Handmade soba set from Shimbashi Soba (290 Orchard Rd, #b1-41 The Paragon). i was greedy and ordered the soba with a hana shokado bento set (SG$28.80) because i like my foods in separate areas… The soba was so tasty the noodles were light and springy and while i found the soft crab super delish i wasn’t a big fan of the agedashi tofu with its crazy goo. The sashimi was fresh and the tempura batter super light.

Roti tissue with condensed milk in a random stall near the Mustafa shopping centre which is open for a crazy 24 hours. We ate here pretty late at night and the waiter dude at first told us the roti tissue wasn’t available but then he saw our disappointment and our obvious touristy vibe and went and got the kitchen to make it for us hahaha

Mee Rebus (SG$2.20) mmm check out the gravy!

And of course one last shot of my fav kaya toast oh man check out the slab of butter!

Finally at the airport and eating last meal of masala dosa. Like my shirt? The awesome Kruppy made it for team oz hehe

i lost the menu :( but um dinner on the A380 was fish, rice and steamed vegies with a prawn and potato salad and lemon slice and for dessert…

Icecream! Was hoping for the classic icecream bar but hey i’ll take what i can get!

After a very crappy sleep woke up to a breakfast of a cinamonny almond muffin, bread and some fruit. And that’s all folks! Finished with the Singapore posts and now back to the random posts :D Super thanks to Nuffnang for the awesome trip!
Back to home
LOL look at all the cans of F&N Sarsi you had with all your meals! But A&W is better :P
Oh man that shop would’ve been my heaven! I love coconut cookies and pineapple tarts!
— Karen Nov 11, 03:44 AM #Wanting roti tissue… or the appum? with coconut milk
— Fiona Nov 11, 08:54 AM #The Red Ruby looks cool, I love water chestnuts! Yum. Oh and I really want to try Kaya toast! The slabs of butter are insane!!
— Betty @ The Hungry Girl Nov 11, 08:54 AM #You totally should have got the homemade kaya and eaten it with a spoon! For the plane ride home :D Aww that was so nice of the waiter to get them to make you a roti tisu. Yay for aeroplane icecream!
— Steph Nov 11, 09:10 AM #Haha so many cans of Sarsi. Should’ve started calling you Sarsisuze. lol
ahhh so many tasty memories. Am stilll wading through all my photos!
— Helen (grabyourfork) Nov 11, 09:42 AM #Ah.. a tub of kaya!!! That would have been super yummy. Should have bought them home! :P
— Shelvia Nov 11, 11:25 AM #Oh I love your Singapore post. Kaya Jam on toast YUMMMMM
— Katherine Nov 11, 11:41 AM #Lol! Love how there is a shot of sarsi positioned in identical spots with the food shots :)
How did the roti tisu compare to Mamak?
— Simon Nov 11, 01:39 PM #Hmmmm just a guess here, but I think you love sarsi LOL!
Love your singapore trip posts too! Looks like you had heaps of fun
— Brenda Nov 11, 01:41 PM #Mate.. I do believe you can stock up on Sarsi in Sydney.. you’ll just have to make a trip to the supermarket at Market City.. there you should be able to buy an assortment of Sarsi and even pre-made frozen roti canni.
— Sidney Nov 11, 02:13 PM #I was enjoying your Singapore posts! I wish there was a kuih and biscuit shop across from my house….
— Jacq Nov 11, 04:47 PM #Thank u for the bday wishes suze<3 i wonder how the roti compares with mamak and 4 icecream cylinders? I think that’s even better than a bar!
— sugarpuffi Nov 11, 05:25 PM #Oh Suze, how I love your kooky jewelery and clothing!
Looks like you had the best time =) It was worth having a pringles bath!
— Iron Chef Shellie Nov 11, 05:54 PM #OOH man.. i really so wished we all got to stay at the same hotel. I so would have been eating 24hrs, and I would know who to drag along.
— Grace Lee Nov 11, 06:47 PM #Suze, great post, again!
Always makes me hungry and wish I was back in Singapore :)
Keep up the good work :)
— Arnold aka Mr.Gadget Nov 11, 10:13 PM #Seems like everyone is at or has just come back from Singapore. LOL It’s all about the pearls huh?

I’m intrigued with the can of drink you had.
Great series of posts! Loved the can of Sarsi in pretty much all the photos.
— Belle@OohLook Nov 12, 12:18 AM #I SO MISS MALAYSIAN FOOD. I’m buying a tin of kaya for a dirty weekend foursome of kaya, butter, toast and me.
— Rose Nov 12, 01:14 AM #i have to disagree with Karen, F&N Sarsi still the BESTEST! A&W is a milder sweeter version for the “western palate” ;)
You should have the iphone or laptop on with the food along with your “I eat, i blog” tee! LOL
— billy@ATFT Nov 12, 11:48 AM #hi suze! i’m a longtime lurking reader from Singapore and i’ve been so excited to see your singapore posts! :) something interesting about galicier – my parents adore their home made kaya. whenever they’re in the tiong bahru area they go to galicier for a kueh snack and bring home kaya! you should totally have gotten a tub and eaten it with a spoon , or spread on crackers (yes, on crackers!)
— dea Nov 13, 01:19 AM #karen: haha i love my sarsi :D
