Malaysia '10 part 1

All holiday posts must begin with the classic shot of the sky + wing of the plane right? The boy and I went on our quasi honeymoon to Malaysia in March and by quasi honeymoon i mean it was a family shindig and we went to see all the rellies who couldn’t make it to Sydney for our wedding and to have another banquet dinner woohoo! i didn’t take too many photos cos i was too busy shopping and eating haha and i know there will be an influx of malaysian posts soon so ill keep it short and sweet i promise.


Lunch time ooh look plane food! Oh how i <3 MAS! The food is actually tasty and i love the block of chocolate they sneak in along with the cheese and crackers. The hot meal was chicken covered in a creamy sauce with a surprisingly light and fluffy mash though nothing could have saved the beans. i have issues with couscous so that compartment was avoided. And i miss the small cans of soft drink. No way in hell i want to drink a whole can of soft drink if im sitting in the middle of the row.


The boy chose the lamb curry and licked the plate clean. No, not literally.


Scored a ginormous block of Weiss mango icecream for dessert. Seriously man what’s with the crazy portions- is it just me but i don’t like eating or drinking too much on a plane. i hate the toilets on planes probably because i have issues with small enclosed spaces hmm


Afternoon snack of a chicken and mayo roll and a Carman’s museli bar.

2. awww man MAS gives Weiss Bars? British Airways sucks butt. the food you’re having looks awesome. Actually, I have to say, Virgin Atlantic does the best air plane food, you gotta give them a shot :)

3. Aw well done MAS, they’ve often shafted me on the good food front! By the way, I have issues with cous cous too….it’s pretty low on my salad wish list.

4. Not bad!I’ve seen much worse in a plain,but I still never have problems finishing my meal…Maybe it’s just because I have nothing better to do than eat during a long flight! :-)

10. ooh ooh We’re flying MAS to KL then on to Frankfurt at the end of May – awesome that they have such yummy looking food. Let’s hope the vegan version can come close.

    I’d love a weiss bar, alas can’t have – Maybe I’ll make Rish eat two! :p

11. Malaysia! Jealous! I look forward to the food posts. I lived in KL for 6 months as a 6 year old, and I fell in love with mangos, roti and Singapore Chilli Crab. (My grandfather was a consultant to help set up the Malaysian Airways Jet base.)

    I love the weis bars MAS brings out mid flight!… suddendly craving 7Up now… lunch break soon, so I might settle my cravings :P

    I prefer smaller cans of drinks in general, as I always have trouble finishing the larger cans, and especially on a plane! I try to avoid the plane toilet as much as possible.

16. MAS has one of the better economy meals. Qantas flight to New York was the worst. They only offered one meal on a 13 hour flight. A tragedy for a foodie like me.
