alphagetti

21 July 2010, 23:31

The one thing I never ate as a kid was alphabet spaghetti and when I saw this teeny tiny can on special at the shops I lol’d and chucked it into the shopping trolley to save for a rainy day.

Fast forward a coupla weeks and the boy requests a snack of ‘something that doesn’t require much chewing’ hohoho your wish is my command! Dump the cans contents into a bowl and nuke it for 2mins and voila! Uber lurid red soup with floaty pasta letters!

Of course what’s a can of alphagetti without some playing around with edible letters. Taste wise it was pretty not tasty hurhur but it was fun for something less than $2!

  1. Hours of fun! How long did it take you to find all the letters? lol

  11. It the can doesn’t have the letters to spell “Chocolate Suze” it should be deemed defecitve and they should give you a new one for free as a replacement.

  18. Never got fun stuff like this as a kid either. It was just “shut up and eat your rice!”

Oh- been offline and just read your previous post. Wow. Where was I when this tornado struck?!

  19. I’ve never had Alphagetti as a child, but I used get canned spaghetti jaffles from my school lunch orders!!

    Ayana    Jul 22, 03:00 PM    #

  20. You should spell out N-O-O-D-S and say “that’s all you’re getting for dinner”.

    *evil cackle

Btw I have a secret love for tinned spaghetti. The actual tin prob has better nutritional value than the edible contents inside, but damn it tastes good. My mom always bought it for me to eat on toast. But she never got the alphabets. Boo :(

  24. Your little branded plate at the end is just too cute !! I used to love alphabet spaghetti when I was a kid, ate it all the time – the joys of growing up with a bachelor dad. Heinz is our friend ….

  25. Oh how I love white bread toast with butter and warm tinned spaghetti, all my childhood rushes back to me in a gloopy tomato sauce drip down the face!

  26. hey suze!!!! absolutely love how you could find all the letters!!!! speaking of which, is that U originally a O?? :P
I remember trying this years later and it was so bad compared to my childhood memories!! Reckon this photo close up would make such an awesome website header :) Or a alternate version made with chocolate and perhaps vary the pasta :)

But I was so excited by Alphagetti I called my mum over.
AND YES I AM PROUD! :)

(I did the same thing when I saw oops spaghetti but these are so much cooler
Why must supermarkets near me FAIL at getting cool things!
I am going on a alphagetti hunt)
