Kaizen BBQ, North Ryde

10 January 2011, 02:16

OH HAI! How was your weekend dudes? Mine was spent searching for watches in particular a raphael ninja turtle flip watch but failing dismally so to cheer me up the boy and I went to Kaizen BBQ in Macquarie Shopping Centre (Level 4, Store 408, Corner of Herring and Waterloo Roads, North Ryde) for a meatilicious lunch

We didn’t think we could manage the all you can eat bbq ($32) let alone the all you can eat wagyu bbq ($38) so settled on ordering a la carte. We got some awesome complimentary banchan in very pretty bowls. How cute is the star bowl! It held a mound of cream cheese submerged in a tomato soup topped with sprouts. There was also uber spicy kimchi, zucchini tempura, slice of prosciutto and salad.

Marinated Wagyu Rib Finger ($18). Not sure if you guys want to see plates of uncooked meat but hey scroll past if you want! Much lols was had at the sight of the random corn cob in the middle of the plate!

Whenever we go to a korean bbq joint it’s just so addictive to continuously add meat to the grill and turning them over! Had a bit of a problem with turning the ribs cos some of the pieces were a bit small and were slipping thru the grate nuuu wasted!

Noods likes meat

Wagyu Skirt Beef ($18). The menu had in brackets (Flap) which weirded me out. Flaps. Of meat. MEAT FLAPS?! Taste wise it was ok, flavoursome and nicely marbled.

Let’s not dwell on the grossness that is the imagery of ‘meat flaps’… This plate was the Wagyu Chuck Roll ($21) and was so awesome and had BAGS of flavour!

Melt in the mouth meat with edges of drool worthy fat, we managed to finish all of the Wagyu chuck roll in < 10 mins and ended up ordering a second plate which meant we totally could’ve done the buffet and saved… $2 lol

Sometimes you just want to bbq things and see ‘what happens’

Next time we’re coming back for the wagyu all you can eat and we’ll not have eaten anything for at least 24 hours hehe

  12. Mmmm that look pretty good. I think everybody now wants the all you can eat wagyu.

The only downside of bbq is that the smell seems to be absorbed into whatever you were wearing on the day.
