Hurricanes, Top Ryde

28 March 2011, 01:13

OH HAI! It’s been a while since I’ve taken a photo with a shiny knife! It sure is shiny. And yes I am wearing a bib cos I am the world’s messiest eater. So how was your weekend dudes? Did we all remember to vote? The boy and I decided to forgo the sausage sizzle at the local primary school and headed over to Hurricanes in the new Top Ryde Shopping Centre (Shop R3006 Ground Floor, Top Ryde City, Cnr Blaxland Rd & Devlin St, Ryde) for a super meat fest.

Woohoo check out my porky ribs! The half rack of pork ribs ($29) was freaking massive, the meat so tender and easily ripped away from the bone with your teeth. I could only make it thru half of these sexy meaty morsels smothered in sweet tangy bbq sauce and couldn’t even look let alone touch the baked potato. They need a kids sized version cos my stomach is so fail but super props to Hurricanes for wrapping up my ribs to take home and chucking in a brand new potato with a container of sour cream! Service yo!

Noods was having trouble deciding on what to get and chose the lamb ribs and steak combo ($42) with fries that were so golden and delicious. The steak looked a bit dubious, seemingly placed far away from the ribs and fries action but when I managed to steal a bite of the steak I suffered from the most incredible food envy ever. It was everything I look for in a steak- tender, juicy, MOIST and with truckloads of flavour and don’t get me started on the lamb ribs! They were a bit chewier than the pork but the flavour was just out of this world zomg words fail me! It was like angels blessed this lamb rack with tastiness.

No way could we fit in dessert, so sorry guys no sweet ending but hey lookit beer! Finally found Aussie beers that I like!

  9. Dude, that first pic of you should be used for a slasher movie poster! Also, voted in my new electorate this weekend, and there was NO sausage sizzle. What the hell!? And obviously no Hurricanes as a substitute. Heartbreaking stuff.
