Ragu Pasta & Wine Bar, Westfield Sydney

11 May 2011, 00:20

It’s been one of those days. Weeks even. I’m sure you guys know what I mean. Every now and then everyone has those times during the week where everything just seems to be crap. And sometimes last minute plans to meet up with your favourite humans for a platter of cheese ($22) and a bottle of Normanno wine ($38) at Ragu Pasta & Wine Bar (Shop 506 Level 5 Westfield Sydney) makes the world a much shinier place.

Of course the strands of fresh pasta hanging from the window of the pasta section has me craving carbs and after uming and ahing over the pros/cons of each pasta type with topping, a plate of Pesto Orecchiette ($14) is soon ordered. Our lovely waiter grates some parmesan and soon I am sporting a gigantic smile as each pasta curl is blanketed in delicious cheese.

Minh has opted for the Ragu Pappardelle ($14) which sadly is not of the shredded pulled meat variety but still tasty.

Helen has gone the sensible route and opted for sushi but we couldn’t help but get a bowl of truffle fries from Charlie and Co to round off our meal :D

  17. Hello red wine. I almost fell asleep on the train home.

And lol, John, this was the day after my epic nine-course dego at Becasse, with a crossiant for breakfast, tostada for lunch and looking in the eye of cheese and truffle fries for dinner. It’s all about balance. Heh.

If the pasta is anywhere near as good as it looks, then yay for reasonably priced pasta in the city! (Big serves, no?)
