11.59pm so i been working at the eat desserts cake factory for about a month now on apprenticeship pay and today they told me they needed a food technologist becos they had just been inspected and didnt do too well in documentation so they asked if i cld give them the number of uws so they cld post an ad or something so i was like sure thing but a coupla my friends are doing food tech and i can let them know if you want and fred the french dude says ok and goes away. 10mins later hes like "oh i just looked at your cv and it said you did food technology for a year?" and i said "yeh and then i switched to nutrition becos im more interested in the food aspect" and then he asked "oh but you coverd haccp and quality control didnt you?" and im like "yeah..." *pause* and then he goes "well would you like the job instead? becos you know all the products now and i think youd be perfect for the job and itd be full salary pay and since you finish uni..." he said more stuff after that but i had my earplugs on and realli all the things he said were kinda fuzzy but i was just stuck on the full salary pay lol so i said sure id love to and now im all excited about all things i can blow my money on hehe

11.59pm darren the white chef (30+, has a beer gut, does the arvo shift) calls me and the viet women i work with 'girls'.
fred the head chef (french, 30+, married, 1 kid) says 'ladies'.
david the 2nd head chef (french, 40+, laughs at me a lot) says 'suzzzaaaaan'.
tina the viet ( 18yo daughter, great sense of humour, eats a lot of cake but skinny as hell) calls a milk crate a 'basket'.
giann the viet (2nd marriage to a white guy, has realllli long hair) calls creme brulee 'brooleeee'.
and tam the other viet (doesnt speak very much english) mixes viet with her english so i get very confused...

11.59pm went to yoshii for earli anniversary dinner because they dont open on sun and duddeee the food was soooo yummy... will post fotos laters

fri 23rd sept
11.59pm 1st is chocolate marble and 2nd is black forest with a realli dodgy top layer of chocolate... like it was supposed to have actual chocolate curls/shavings but they ran out and i realli wanted some chocolate on top so i just wacked on the chocolate curls crumbs... my parental thought it was tiramisu so took a biiig bite and is like wtf? its got cherries???

thurs 22nd sept
11.59pm mmm chocolate wasabi cheesecake... and yes its spicy! i took a bite out of it before asking its name and woah needed a huge glass of chocolate milk!

wed 21st sept
11.59pm car window is fixed! yay! parentals took it back to car dealer and apparently its under warranty or something so now i have new glass in my poor cursed car.

tues 20th sept
6.27pm i was meant to start work at 7am today so i woke up bright and earli at 6am had a nice big bowl of cereal, said gbye to my dad who always wakes up to wave to me, and then jump into my car and slam my door and then i hear a WHIIIISH behind me and out of the corner of my left eye i see something fall and thinking it was just water or ice falling i thought nothing of it until i realised i could feel the wind and turned around and... SOME MUTHAFUCKER EITHER:
A. broke into my car (for what?)
B. flew into my car (stupid bird)
C. threw something at my car (like a ball?)
or D. fucked up my car in general when it was being assembled (idiots)
i am carless once again.

mon 19th sept
11.59pm ok so sometimes i dont realli get freebies but more like i pick out the cakes that are a bit ugly and hide them in a box in the fridge to take home later... or maybe theyll be extra of a certain cake and ill ask if i can have it for lunch and if they say yes then i take it to mean that i can take it home... 1st one is creme caramel and that fugly 2nd one is sticky date pudding minus the sauce.

9.28pm nats 21st last nite!!! yay happy bday nat!!! dinner was at the very sexy miltons (25 Bligh St, Sydney) and clubbing at verandah bar and methinks this is gonna be a long post so click here for fotos n post

11.59pm mmm more freebies... 1st is chocolate creme brulee tart and 2nd is vanilla berry (yoghurt? i dunno...)

wed 14th sept
11.59pm the fine foods festival was on this week at darling harbour and since it was supposed to be onli open to ppl of the food trade i got to say for the first time that i was a baker and i got a badge saying that and it was funny watching the store owners look at the badge first before your face... and golly gosh was there a lot of free samples! me and noods arrived a bit later than my parentals becos we'd forgotten to register so had to ring them to see where they were and they were waiting for us at a mangosteen stall!!! so mangosteens for all and then next off to try some icecream, then scored some muffins, danish, biscuits, museli bars, smoked trout, red bull, v, h2go, chocolate and finally got tired of walking and had lunchies at a sushi-go-round in the darling harbour shopping centre...

tues 13th sept
6.56pm after such a shitty day at work yesterday i was preparing myself for the worst until i realised i was actually happy. i tried as hard as i could to think why i was happy about nothing when i came to the realisation that 2 painkillers with your breakfast will do wonders for the rest of the day... mmm pecan pie...

mon 12th sept
11.59pm my hands were a little shaky today (yes bad day. bad back day) so er fotos are a bit blurry... 1st one is apricot crumble and 2nd is a pile of a soft almond biscuit (my mum took one bite of the biscuit and goes SWEET! omg its so SWEET)

4.20pm went to cake factory today to buy the black forest cake for noods' cousin but they sold out! grr argh i was so looking forward to yummy sour cherry sweet chocolate cake... but instead look at what i found!!! bread and butter pudding! and yes i know i usually dislike bread and butter pudding but this is sooo yummy with soft custardy goodness!

fri 9th sept
11.59pm me and noods went to the rock eisteddford!!! noods's cousin was in it so their family invited us along (hee free tickets!) noods had no idea what it was and was calling it the rockafella... i saw it on tv last year and thought it was fantastic and wished baulko had taken part and all the costumes and music and dance choreography was amazing!

10.44pm hmm its doesnt look too interesting but this is coconut and passionfruit pannacota... i reckon it needs a pretty layer on top or something... but it had a nice jelly like consistency... and i have decided on seeing some spinal dude this sat cos i been having serious probs with my lower back... *cries* i need to reduce my hours cos im not cut out for factory work! but i like playing with all the diff cakes! and taking cakes home!

tues 6th sept
7.03pm you know whats worse than not bringing home cakes to eat from work? bringing cakes home and going to pee and then finding out the parental had just taken a huge bite out of the most yummiest looking one... grr but here we have a lemon meringue tart, absolut mandarine cake AND THE MOST YUMMIEST CHOCOLATEY CAKE I HAVE EVER HAD!!!

9.40pm my palm feels like its burning cept i didnt burn it... at least not with anything hot. i had to get a slab of cake out of the freezer and for once i wasnt wearing gloves so i grabed the slab in its metal tray made it about 2 steps before it felt like my hand was getting permanently glued to the metal...

thurs 1st sept
11.59pm if you were in the parra area and saw/smelt the smoke it was from the firemen folk who were backburning and burning away the bush near my area. my mum smsd me around 2 saying there was a fire engine parked about 4 blocks away and when i came home at 4 i didnt see a fire engine... i saw FOUR fire engines and there was so much smoke that cars had to turn their lights on to see and while our rental house is on a main road, our backyard is the bush... the bush that they were backburning but ended up getting out of control! man felt so edgy becos car was away at the repairers and i was home alone and the last time there was a major bushfire our street nearli got evacuated and do you know how crazy it is trying to pack all your favourite belongings into ONE suitcase and at the same time clear away the leaves and stuff from the gutters and hose anything that could potentially catch on fire??? yes... crazy times...
