Easter show food 2006
Easter show food 2006
I love the Easter Show!!! The food, the atmosphere, the games, the animals, the rides, the showbags, the CHEESE ON A STICK!
Imagine a block of cheese DEEP FRIED! The batter has the same chewy. crunchy texture as those football shaped ham soi gok at yumcha and then biting into the middle is a RIVER of cheesy goodness! I haven’t been able to find it anywhere else except the Easter show and the dagwood dogs just cant compete so i uh ate 3 hehe I also ate corn on the cob with a crapload of salt and pepper.
Noods likes eating weird things so he got the crocodile sausage sandwich which tasted okayish but it was so spicy! We went for a wander thru the Woolworths fresh food dome on the lookout for freebies and scored bottles of milk heh mmm dairy goodness and also nudie fruit juice shots, chocolate, fruit, nesquick milk and yoghurt before finding the decosti seafood section and ordered a dozen oysters which were fresh, ice cold and full of briny goodness. We also grabbed a bucket of fairy floss heh yep a whole bucket with 3 diff colours!
We left the food area and went to have a gander at the cake decorating section
And golly gosh some people are reallY talented! My favourite was the yum cha table by Annie Lo
Man I haven’t had a toffee apple in agesss the last time I had one I dropped it within 10 seconds of licking it haha and mmm fudge look it’s mango fudge! And our showbags! 2 wicked mega warheads, 1 mega warheads, 1 mini warheads and 1 trolli showbag yeh we love our sour lollies
After failing miserably at the games we left to go home and just as we stopped at the amber light at the corner of the hills hospital and this happened:

Edit: CLOSED
Noods was ranting about this restaurant every time he goes past about how it looks like a house (dya think that part was the living room?’) and being curious we visited Peronis Restaurant (48 Station St East, cnr Ada St Parramatta/Harris Park).
There was a pretty large table of guys which might’ve explained the lack of service and it was strange how the manager dude would go around to every table saying hello etc except ours. We don’t really have high expectations when we eat out, we just want the menu without having to ask for it but anyways.
I ordered an entree of Double baked cheese souffle with parmesan wafer and pesto cream sauce ($15.90)
The cheese souffle was soooo soft and creamy and CHEESEY and the pesto sauce was PERFECT and eeeee this has possibly moved up on my alltime most favourite entree
For mains I ordered the Rack of lamb with parmesan herb crust, sweet potato puree, ratatouille vegetables and rosemary jus ($28.90)
The lamb was a tad too fatty for me but the breaded crust tasted like chicken stuffing! I LOVE chicken stuffing! The sweet potato puree was nice and er pureed but the veggies came out like mush so not much of a texture difference there
Noods ordered the Grain fed sirloin with roasted kipfler potatoes creamy spinach, puffed pastry and green peppercorn jus ($26.90)
He declared it meh and the puffed pastry was just a midget ball of puff pastry with nothing inside.
We almost decided against dessert becos we couldn’t get any waiter to bring us the menu. But finally I ordered the Traditional creme brulee with fresh vanilla beans and macadamia biscotti ($8.90)
Mmm the biscotti was nice and light and crispy, I hate those hard as a brick ones where your teeth break!
Noods ordered the Hazelnut nougat terrine with cream anglaise and raspberry coulis ($8.90)
Mmm tasted like icecream with a delicious hazelnut taste!

Chocolate for meeeeee, chocolate for youuuuu! This is the mad ramblings of a hungry girl the minutes leading up to arriving at the Swissotel (68 Market St, Sydney). High Tea at Crossroads Bar is $25 p.p and it’s ALL YOU CAN EAT! We arrived nice and early and were seated in giant soft n comfy sofa chairs and I randomly picked a tea called sweet berries thinking all tea tastes the same to me
And then thinking woah that’s pretty sweet for a tea and hmm it kinda smells and looks like creaming soda but watery
And then the chefs came out wheeling a trolley and you could just see everyone instantly stop their conversations and stare at the table prioritising what they’re going to put on their plates first. I had asked the waitress if it was ok to take photos and she seemed a bit iffy about it so I stopped at the one photo. It was a good thing we came early because they only refilled on the finger sandwiches (think noods ate them all hehe)
Look at all the yummy yummys! There was lemon meringue tarts, pistachio terrine, finger sandwiches, scones a plenty, chocolate mousse, fruit tarts, some sweet roll that tasted like apricot logs, assorted chocolate cake and CREME BRULEE!
Me plate! And erm after the 2nd cup I think I’m all creme bruleed out!
But best of all the CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN! Sticks of strawberry slices, pineapple chunks, chocolate mudcake cubes, kiwi fruit and MARSHMALLOWY GOODNESS

Mmm celebration dinner at Amo Roma (135 George Street, The Rocks). If you’re planning on going here, ask to sit inside and not in that room near the entrance cos that room feels weird like reallllli strange like ghost vibe…
First up Tuna al carpaccio ($19)
Thinly sliced eye fillet of tuna with shaved parmesan, extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice and cracked black pepper woo baby this was sooo good! Look at the parmesan!!! Yhe tuna was salty but matched really well with the huge mound of rocket and mmm I love rocket but woah bit of an excess of oil
For my mains I got a small al salmon pizza ($20)
It was supposed to have cream cheese but I couldn’t taste it (lol i need extra cheese man!) and there were ribbons of smoked salmon, huge chunks of avocado and slices of red capsicum. The red capsicum was weird but the pizza base was near perfect for a thin crust
Noods got the Fettucine vonogole ($26)
It weirds me out that the pasta was brown.. whenever I see any form of noodles brown i automatically think theres soy sauce in it so when I taste it my brain gets confused and thinks it should be way saltier. The baby clams were so soft and buttery and noods was digging thru his pile of shells looking for more
And dessert. Ah dessert is my most favourite part of the meal! I ordered the Lemon meringue pie ($9.50)
Have you ever seen those lemon meringue pies in cafes with a huge mound of meringue and a teensy squidgen of pastry base? Yeah that’s what this was like. Woah so sweet but sooo preeetty!
And noods ordered the Chocolate raspberry cheesecake ($9.50)
The cheesecake was really dense. As in, so dense you eat one forkful and you’re full as your stomach tries to digest all that cream
