the very first time me and noods went to melbourne was the first time we had max brenner. we were wandering around the streets and saw a whole lot of people crammed like sardines in the store as well as overflowing to the tables outside. as we neared the store the words ‘chocolate bar’ registered and straight away we went in and ordered the giant fresh strawberries with warm gooey chocolate sauce. theres a max brenner in chatswood but it doesnt have the same atmosphere as melb did probably becos its inside a very posh section in a shopping centre. but finally one has opened in parramatta and we have been regular customers there after dinner. but today was the first time we’d been for breakfast. noods was pregnant hungry and decided he wanted the chocolate pizza (‘are you sure? its gonna be a pizza with chocolate on it!’)
suffice it to say he onli made it thru 3 slices before i came along and KAPOOF ate the remaining FIVE slices (oh yes i am a pig)
becos noods was so sure he could finish his pizza i had ordered the the safer option of the chocolate souffle
and milk chocolate suckao

after a hectic day at work me n noods headed to Blakes Restaurant (1/33 Terminus st, Castle Hill). We were planning on using the Entertainment book voucher for the mains so we decided that the ‘saved’ money could be spent on the entree platter for 2ppl ($29)
and it was loaded with all these goodies! fresh king prawns, yabbies, caramelised pork, tender chicken skewers, creamed mushroom shots, and the toast to go with the very tasty crab pot.
for my mains i was feeling very meaty so decided on the ribeye ($33)
look at all the meat! i wanted to pick it up by the bone and fling it around the room like fred flintstone! but it was gooood with nice charcoaly edges and squishy bits of fat with flesh almost tasting like wagyu. i got a choice of either dianne or pepper sauce but since im very undecisive i managed to get both heh
noods ordered his kangaroo
he claims this is the 2nd best kangaroo hes ever had (best is at eat city). that round thing on the right is a giantass mushroom stuffed with tomato bits. both our mains came with mash potato and a quaint little side dish of steamed vegies.
dessert time! feeling very very full we could not pass up the dessert platter ($20)
and it arrived on FIRE! well no its just a sparkler but oooh i havent played with sparklers since i was a kid! platter contained flourless chocolate cake, lemon cheesecake, dark chocolate mousse, creme brulee, strawberry gelato, passionfruit halves and strawberries.
wallet, cake, ramen, sushi, icecream and bread!

i like going out with nothing super specific to buy and finding something on sale or super cheap that i just cant resist buying. me and noods went to the north rocks bring and buy markets in search of a bacon and egg roll and i scored this pretty wallet for $4 mmm bargain it looks brand new!
heh i like it becos shes holding icecream… and its pink… i like pink…
then on the way to the city we stopped at dolce amore.
we’d never been before so i was expecting yummy yummy cakes. we got this giant slice of chocolate mud cake for $3
i should have realised something was wrong when the man handed it to me and said heat it up in microwave before eating… ugh packet mix taste! it cost nearli as much as my sexy wallet!
straight to market city for some retail therapy (w00t scored a shoulder bag from dangerfield!) and then headed to ichiban boshi
Kara-age Ramen
oh ichibanboshi how big are your servings i could dunk my whole face in that bowl and still have room for all the noodles to float around…
Tantanmen Ramen
noods thought it was ok but found this spicy. he realli wanted the tonkatsu but we were told we had an hour wait. hour my arse. pssht we are impatient young people!
went to the bookstore next door to preorder my copy of dirty sugar cookies and then went back to china town to ippon sushi for our weekly dose of sashimi and fried salmon skin
in need of dessert we headed to passionflower for stickyrice, pink grapefruit and lime sorbet icecream
and last but not least a loaf of sticky rice bread from breadtop thanks to a post from bowb
ooh swirls sooo pretty ooh hypnotic purple swirlys

on the way back from zilver me and noods noticed a new sushi train restaurant called Umi so new that i cant google the address hmm but its in between zilver and musashi and overlooking the tram lines near gloria jeans.
a mighty mighty call of irashaimasu was called out to us one by one like a mexican wave and indeed it was mighty for there were 5 sushi chef dudes and 8 waiters floating around.
the waiter explained to us that the place was so new that they hadnt put in any fish in the fishtank wall (or water for that matter lol)
we werent very hungry and we thought oh we’ll just order sashimi and maybe a sushi roll and we’ll be on our way. we were very wrong and ended up ordering 5 dishes! first up:
salmon sashimi
so very good. the slices were so chunky!
scallop boat
so fresh! we didnt know what it was when it floated past and heard the ppl near us exclaim scallop! before i reached up and CRUSHED their scallop dream…
salmon roll
noods took one bite outa this and goes nooo its smoked salmon!
salt and pepper soft shell crab
this was ok. not mindblowing good but not bad either. perfectly crispy and salty maybe needed more pepper?
wagyuuuuu
we love wagyu oooh wagyu is our meat of choice but what was with all the shredded stuff on top? kinda tasted like soggy tempura bits… but the wagyu was good! well, for that price. and i cant remember the price. but it was relatively cheap. and we shall return oh yes. and maybe theyll have fish in the tanks…
hairclip fun
