The boy hates going grocery shopping with me because i like to walk down every single aisle and look at everything. i tend to get suckered into new products quite easily and something i found the other day was Aeroplane Jelly- Create a Jelly!

And yes i realise i can make my own flavour jelly using gelatin/pectin but hey like i said- easily suckered into! The box of jelly was 89c so i thought hey why not lets give it a go. Decided on making lychee jelly and of course Mother energy drink jelly heh heh

So add the boiling water to the packet mix give it a good stir and then add in the flavour you want. The back of the box says you can pretty much use any flavouring like cordial, sports drinks etc but not fresh kiwi, pineapple or paw paw because they’re uber acidic so the jelly won’t set because these fruits contain protease, which breaks down the protein in the jelly THANKS BENN!

4 hours later and presto! i added lychee bits because was worried not enough lychee flavour since i’d only just used the syrup in the can. i was right about it not being lychee enough but loved the fruit bits. The Mother energy drink jelly was awesome tho and super zingy! Wonder how it would taste if i used the V or Red Bull shots hmm

Ended up doing an extra Coke jelly this morning cos i wanted to see what the bubbles would do and yeah it created a weird foamy layer on top i think it’d be better if i use Coke that was flat so less bubbles. And maybe Coke syrup would make it super Coke flavoured? Think i’m gonna try champagne next or maybe MAPLE SYRUP JELLY!

OH HAI! Ok i promise dudes this is the last post for Singapore i swear! Across the road from the Link hotel was this awesome kuih and biscuit shop and Helen and i would stop by pretty much every day that we were in Singapore to buy some kuihs to snack on. About 3 hours before leaving for the airport we decided to stock up on some biscuits to bring home hoho this is our combined haul of biscuits mmm

Tiong Bahru Galicier Pastry (Block 55, Tiong Bahru Rd, 01-39)

Trays upon trays of colourful Nonya kuih line the glass counter. Onde onde, kuih lapis, kuih dadar, kuih salat…

Biscuits galore! There were pineapple tarts, peanut cookies, cornflake biscuits, kuih bangkit (pandan and coconut), biscotti and tubs of homemade kaya! We seriously considered buying a tub and eating it in the hotel with a spoon. We so should have done it Helen!

And now for some random foods i ate: Red Ruby! Aka water chestnuts that have been coated in tapioca starch and food colouring and then boiled till crunchy and served with coconut milk and heaps of shaved ice

Handmade soba set from Shimbashi Soba (290 Orchard Rd, #b1-41 The Paragon). i was greedy and ordered the soba with a hana shokado bento set (SG$28.80) because i like my foods in separate areas… The soba was so tasty the noodles were light and springy and while i found the soft crab super delish i wasn’t a big fan of the agedashi tofu with its crazy goo. The sashimi was fresh and the tempura batter super light.

Roti tissue with condensed milk in a random stall near the Mustafa shopping centre which is open for a crazy 24 hours. We ate here pretty late at night and the waiter dude at first told us the roti tissue wasn’t available but then he saw our disappointment and our obvious touristy vibe and went and got the kitchen to make it for us hahaha

Mee Rebus (SG$2.20) mmm check out the gravy!

And of course one last shot of my fav kaya toast oh man check out the slab of butter!

Finally at the airport and eating last meal of masala dosa. Like my shirt? The awesome Kruppy made it for team oz hehe

i lost the menu 🙁 but um dinner on the A380 was fish, rice and steamed vegies with a prawn and potato salad and lemon slice and for dessert…

Icecream! Was hoping for the classic icecream bar but hey i’ll take what i can get!

After a very crappy sleep woke up to a breakfast of a cinamonny almond muffin, bread and some fruit. And that’s all folks! Finished with the Singapore posts and now back to the random posts 😀 Super thanks to Nuffnang for the awesome trip!

2 more posts of singapore to go i swear! haha and then back to your normal broadcasting of junk food and candy mmm candy… so anyways Mr Gadget had earlier on proclaimed his love of Singapore Chilli Crabs and so we found ourselves at No Signboard Restaurant (Vivo City, 1 Harbourfront Walk, #03-02, Vivo City). Oh yes the restaurant is called No Signboard! Apparently the founder Mdm Ong Kim Hoi first started her restaurant in the Mattar Rd Hawker Centre without a signboard and word of mouth kept referring them as the stall with no signboard. So hai oh look coconut juice!

The Chilli Singapore Crab is first to arrive and look at all the saucy goodness oh baby it was perfect! Crab with plenty of flesh and it is demolished even before the other 2 crabs arrive

Butter Crab. We had been hoping the butter crab would be loaded with buttery deepfried goodness but sadly it is not to be. The crab was still tasty but there was no sauce or fried bits to fight over

The White Pepper Crab was so very moreish and came a very close second in my preference for the chilli crab

Fried buns arrive and they are the perfect vehicle for scooping up leftover sauce. Helen and i chortle with glee when they arrive for they are perfect- golden and crisp on the outside with pillow soft innards

Steamed buns are also ordered but everyone loves the fried buns so much that we end up ordering 3 more serves hoho

A mountain of fried rice is also ordered incase the 3 crabs weren’t enough…

CHEEEEESEEEE! Our fabulous eating group of bloggers: Super Kawaii Mama, Living Footprints, Michael Aulia, Monoxious, Mr Gadget and Grab Your Fork. Big thanks to Dave for the awesome meal!

HAI! Like my necklace? It says ‘tweet’ hehe i got it from Haji Lane aka my new happy place in Singapore where i bought much clothing and stupidly i have no photos of the area aw boo. But anyways this pic was taken in front of Dior which had a hell crazy bright shop front and im holding a Napolean tea & Caramel macaron (SG$2) from TWG in Ion Centre. It was tasty. Zumbos still wins hehe

Breakfast set from Tiong Bahru Market i think the ice coffee, kaya toast and the soft boiled eggs were SG$4.80. Loved how they cut the crusts off for me 😀

(Image from Leslie) Howard had organised to meet up for lunch at Siang Hee with Best Food Blog winner Leslie Tay and his lovely family and oh boy were we in for a treat! Ah Yoke whipped up a crazy amount of dishes for us and funnily enough seemed really interested in deep fried mars bars…

So much food! Super loved the pumpkin prawns which were coated in a golden rich sauce. There was ribs aplenty, pillow soft tofu, crunchy french beans, and an oyster omellete that was overloaded in oysters.

But wait still more food! The har cheong gai was finger lickin good

Steamed grouper

And one fricken awesome pork knuckle seasoned with salt, pepper and five-spice powder and then deepfried oh baby so tasty

Say cheese! Much thanks to Leslie and Ah Yoke for the delicious lunch! Hope to hear about deep fried mars bars being the latest craze! (Image from Leslie)

Katsu-sando (SG$3.20). After several hours of shopping on the fabulous Orchard Rd we were finally hungry enough to have a katsu-sando from Takashimaya’s food hall. As soon as we saw the katsu-sando stall Helen and i looked at each other and lol’d. We were totes thinking of you Richard!

And on the way out we spotted this crazy concoction: a hotdog on a stick covered in french fries! hoho at SG$2.20 we couldn’t resist!
