Chocolatesuze on the Kit Kat Desk Jockey Show
Edited: Youtube clips have been uploaded! Scroll down!

So for the past coupla weeks I’ve been staring at this guy all day – meet the Kit Kat Desk Jockey! He works like a machine so you don’t have to! He sits in an office every weekday from 12-4pm and you send in requests for him to do like dance, draw portraits, order pizzas or even learn to speak another language and it’s all broadcast live online here!

Thanks to this competition that I ran last week I was invited to come into the studio and be a part of the Kit Kat Desk Jockey Show to select the finalists for the comp. I didn’t realise I was going to be on the show for so long- the Kit Kat Desk Jockey has never had another human on the show since he started back in May! Noods told me later that he thought I looked a tad terrifed at the beginning bahaha that’s putting it mildly! I’m so used to being the one behind the camera or just taking random candid photos but have never been filmed before lols the lab coats are working on getting my youtube clip uploaded and I’ll embed it at the end of my post when I receive it. edit: IT’S UP! IT’S UP! GO WATCH AND LAUGH AT ME!!!

Meeting the Kit Kat Desk Jockey for the first time was like deja vu. Knowing the names of Sally the mannequin, Wally the water tank and Larry the lamp and feeling like I knew the Kit Kat Desk Jockey even tho we had never met haha

There were seriously just boxes and boxes of Kit Kats everywhere! The whole room just smelled like candy mmm candy

(Pic from Facebook Fan Page). Starting to make some crazy Kit Kat combos.

So this was the first finalist from the comp, Commenter ‘H’ with: “The Earthquake. Take one tortilla, slather with peanut butter and fill with Kit Kats, crispy bacon rashers and a dollop of dulce de leche.” Oh baby. Sweeeet. A lil too sweet perhaps because we used a whole can of dulce haha and yes bacon is a magical animal 😀 heh heh congrats ‘H’! You’ve won a year’s supply of Kit Kats!

The second finalist was Commenter ‘isLa’ with: “kit kat rockyroad slice – bite size bits of kit kats, sprinkles of desiccated coconut, loads of marshmallow, handful of nuts with melted chocolate!” hehe we didn’t have enough melted chocolate but hey you get the idea! Nice idea ‘isLa’ you um don’t win the grand prize but some Kit Kats will be making their way to ya too

This is Sally. Isn’t she hot?

And that’s all folks! It was super fun being on the show even if I don’t think I quite matched the energy level of the Kit Kat Desk Jockey haha we did a Kit Kat eating competition at the end which I uh conveniently do not have any photos of… But I was the winner woot! And yeah the show has been extended for another week and if you’re bored and need a break check him out here weekdays 12-4pm!

I was asked to try out some products of Quorn- Sausages, Dippers and Southern Style Burgers, which are meat-free and soy-free food. Launching for the first time in Australia, the main ingredient used within the Quorn range is mycoprotein, made from a nutritious member of the fungi family. Mycoprotein is quality vegetarian protein that’s naturally low in fat and saturated fat, with very few calories. Mycoprotein is high in dietary fibre and contains all the essential amino acids found in the protein from meat, but excludes some of the nasties such as cholesterol.
Removing the frozen burger patties and the dippers from the packet and baking in the oven for 15mins was easy enough. The dippers had a bit of a lurid yellow colouring when frozen but magically turned golden after being baked in the oven.
The sausages looked a bit weird and for some reason smelled super sweet when pan frying but eventually they browned after 15mins
Tadah! A tasting plate of Quorn! Looks pretty good hey! So good that after taking this photo, I went to hang some washing and when I came the boy had already started eating it!
Look at him nomming away! He is the world’s biggest carnivore. Someone who stares at a plate of pasta asking why there’s no meat. Hur hur he made it halfway thru the burger before I told him it wasn’t meat lols his verdict was that the dippers were the best- tasting exactly like chicken nuggets, the burger was like eating a crumbed chicken schnitzel but the sausages were a bit spongey in texture.

Hello non chicken nugget! The innards looked remarkably similar to a normal nugget and the outside shell was crisp and not too salty

Poor sausage didn’t quite live up to a normal meaty sausage in terms of texture or taste

And a burger innards shot mmm innards
Overall I reckon everything was pretty tasty and I would buy the dippers again because those things were so freaking addictive esp with tomato sauce mm anywhos Quorn will be available in the freezer aisle in your local supermarket, at a Recommended Retail Price of $5.99. (Not all products available in all stores)

The one thing i miss most about Malaysia is the soft boiled eggs + kaya toast. I managed to permanently borrow this soft boiled egg cooker from the parental units and it’s freaking awesome and makes perfect soft boiled eggs every time.

The best thing about this plastic contraption is there’s no cooking involved! No pot of water where you stir and stir! Just heat up so water in the kettle chuck your eggs into the cooker and pour the hot water up to the line depending on how many eggs you have. Whack on the lid and while you’re waiting for the water to drain out the bottom toast some bread.

The awesome Sook gave me a jar of kaya for my b’day made from her mothers secret recipe. (Kaya is a sweet spread made from coconut milk, eggs, sugar and pandan). Seriously the way to my heart is giving me food hehe I’ve never attempted making it but have watched it being made with constant stirring for over an hour- a jar of homemade kaya is worth its weight in gold!

Slice up some butter and spread the kaya super thick

Smoosh together and tadah awesomeness

When the eggs are done crack em into a bowl, add a dash of soy sauce and white pepper and away you go!
