farewell 2010!
So time for a wrap up of 2010! Luther burgers, my wedding, tetsuyas masterclass, 1m roti, iron chefs, suckling pig at chophouse, macaron day, bathtub of ice cream
It’s that time of year again! Time for a wrap up of 2010!
We start with the re-creation of the intriguingly tasty but slightly disgusting Krispy Kreme Luther Burger.
My first time being featured in a magazine! However the article itself was a bit weird, including food bloggers in the article but also including quotes from an addiction specialist wtf!
February kicked off with my hen’s party
followed by noods and my wedding hee sunshine lollipops and rainbows everywhereeee
There was a once in a lifetime dinner and masterclass with Tetsuya
a mini honeymoon to malaysia for a giant 1m roti
as well as a banquet dinner with the rellies
Got to meet the Iron Chefs
and was a guest on the Kit Kat Desk Jockey online show
Had a blast with food bloggers at my b’day
was a bridesmaid at Lene & Michael’s wedding
had the most amazing suckling pig at chophouse
decided to make a watermelon keg
faced my fear of deep frying to deep fry some candy
Joined the queues at Adriano Zumbo’s macaron day
Had a blast organising the Sydney Food Bloggers Xmas Picnic
The end of an era at Rise Restaurant
Last but not least, finally fulfilling my fantasy of bathtub filled with ice cream

OH HAI! Drinks ahoy!
Quick post today dudes but here’s a lunch I’ve been having quite frequently near my work area: Thanon Khao San (413 Pitt Street, Haymarket) has an awesome lunch menu with most things under $10 which is freaking awesome. The Khao Moo Krob (Crispy pork belly) served with rice, soup and gravy plum sauce ($8.90) is so delish but yes a little unbalanced on the fat ratio but it’s so tasty yo! And washed down with a (non-alcoholic) beverage of Sappa-Rot (pineapple blend) $3.90
And once upon a time on a visit to Duke’s Bistro (Upstairs of the Flinders Hotel, 65 Flinders St, Darlinghurst) saw the consumption of the fabulous tomato, strawberry, burrata and shiso $18. BURRATA! I HEART BURRATA!
Also, super love to Helen for the awesome xmas package hee jelly cups, crazy flavoured chips, and zomg i needs to buy some white bread to smear the cheez whiz on heh
Love to Billy for the bacon and salted caramels mmm seriously guys the way to my heart is thru food hehe and i am a willing recipient if you wish to donate caramels! I haz issues with the mess of making caramels lol
And ok these aren’t food related but eeee school bus converse shoes!!! i saw them at paul’s warehouse but they didn’t have my size and i cant buy online cos the pauls warehouse website says only in mens size booo
so that was christmas
so that was christmas
Teehee Santa brought me a giant freaking jar of Nutella! zomg 5kilos of deliciousness! Lol and also a giant freaking mug that holds 2 litres of tasty beverages side note: Noods first saw the giant jar of Nutella displayed at a certain chocolate cafe (starts with st ends oritz) in Darling Harbour shops who offered to sell him an EMPTY jar for $45!! When he gave them a WTF would he want an empty jar they said they could sell him a full jar for $100. Thinking he was being ripped off he passed on their offer and went to Signorelli in Pyrmont and scored a (full) jar for $77. Woot. Signorelli=win
Thanks Santa Noods!
Showing my love by cooking the breakfast of champions! French toast, crispy bacon, garlic mushrooms, and baked eggs in a gingerbread mold hee ♥
Hope you guys are having an awesome holiday! Everything in moderation ya hear 😛

beach + kazbah
Bondi beach + deep fried mars bar, kazbah breakfast banquet, cutest bear jars from grasshopper bar
3 more days to xmas wheeeee! Knowing how hectic the leadup to Xmas was gonna be, Richard organised a group of us to get some quality beach time in a coupla weeks ago. We headed to Bondi beach bright and early and in need of something to eat I made the executive decision to get a deep fried mars bar. Breakfast of champions yo! The golden, breaded exterior gave way to a gooey molten layer of chocolate, nougat and caramel. I had trouble eating and walking at the same time it was just that good. (Or I am just that uncoordinated)
It was such a glorious summer day unlike the crazy weird weather Sydney has been experiencing lately. Also Opera was in town and giant O’s were being sky written all morning but it was just so awesome to chillax but remember guys slip slop slap!
Somehow we always end up burying someone.
And then it was time to hit up Kazbah (379 Darling Street, Balmain) for their breakfast banquet ($25p.p min 6ppl) with some super excited hungry eaters where there was giant bowls of rice pudding, sweet couscous and banana porridge which alas I failed to take a photo of as I was too hungry ahaha but lookit that tagine! It was half lamb mince and half roast pumpkin breakfast tagine and oh baby it was deeeelicious with plenty of buttery Turkish bread to soak up the juices.
But wait look at this ginormous platter groaning under the motherlode of crispy bacon, halloumi, lamb sausages, roasted tomato and potato nubbins. There was also a separate plate filled with bowls of baby spinach, sauteed mushrooms and baked beans.
BUT THERE‘S STILL MORE! Eggs eggs and more eggs! Scrambled, poached or fried how can you resist such a cheerful looking plate? What’s that? You’re full? Surely you know what’s next…
The biggest mother honking pancake I have ever seen! A chocolate pancake so fat and dense and covered with butterscotch sauce and chocolate fudge ice cream zomg food coma begins nao. It doesn’t look too big from this pic but that plate was so deep man! And there was another pancake which I also failed in taking a photo of um my bad but it was a banana pancake with maple syrup and double cream. Did I mention they also gave us another side bowl filled with cream just in case that giant dollop wasn’t enough? Awesome. Not so awesome was the Sunday % surcharge. Boo someone report them to ACCC.
And I leave you with this awesome cocktail in a bear jar from the Grasshopper bar (Temperance Lane, off George St, Sydney). It was tasty and oh so easy to drink 😛
