Everyday Espresso, Redfern
Guys! There’s only 15 sleeps until Christmas! Seriously where on earth did the time go? It’s now a race to buy Xmas pressies, stock up on wrapping paper and debate about doing the yearly gingerbread men bake. One thing I’ll make the time for though, is eating fried chicken! Everyday Espresso opened up 2 weeks ago just across the street from Redfern station and is serving up cracking food with chef Tomislav Martinovic consulting on the menu.
The Coops Benny ($16.90) is like eggs benedict on crack. There’s a generous amount of golden buttermilk fried chicken, which are bloody awesome- crisp batter and incredibly juicy meat. Tbh I’d be perfectly happy with a whole bucket of that chicken and settle down to netflix and chill. There’s also streaky bacon, a fried egg and a river of yuzu hollandaise which cuts through the richness, all stuffed inside a Brasserie Bread croissant.
The Mushroom Love ($15.90) toastie is one mother fricken amazing toastie, thanks probably in part to the magic that is buttered brioche! The toastie contains a forest of sliced mushrooms, a light schmear of truffle paste and is blanketed in oozy, gooey triple cheese.
Noods has chosen off the more healthier side of the menu with the Soba Omelette ($15.90). And it’s still pretty damn tasty! There’s a fluffeh three egg omelette, a jumble of green soba noodles tangled with enoki mushrooms and crisp sheets of nori, fried shallots and drizzled with a light soy dressing. Perfect summer food!
