Zilver, previously known as the Silver Springs Restaurant, is located on the corner of Pitt and Hay Street in Sydney’s CBD (near capitol theatre and a cafe called fire station cafe).
me and noods were on the hunt for new yum cha places and it took us a while to finally try zilver. we were led to our table by a smiley lady in a pink cheongsam however our table was on the side furthest from the kitchen which meant by the time the trolley came it was alrdy half empty (or is it half full lol). service was about the same as other yumcha places (nothing special) however the yumcha trolley ladys were very friendly and smiley and would actually say thank you after we made our selection. for some reason one of them asked where i was from (and JadedLotus i had to resist the urge to say sweden) but i just said malaysia and off she went on her merry way.
siu mai
OH MY GOD. these are the best siu mai i have ever eaten! and they were giant monster siu mai! you shouldve seen noods eyes when he bit into them 0_0 hehe
ham sui gok aka footballs
footbally goodness of crunchy starch! i asked the smiley lady rather ditzily if they were in those steamer things knowing they werent and 2 mins later they arrived piping hot and fresh
hmm some random dumpling with pork and vegetables
char leong
mmm crunchy with soft noodley goodness (haha i heard the trolley lady describe it “like a donut! but with noodle…”)
wu gok (deep fried taro dumplings)
noods wants me to tell the world that there were scallops hidden inside!
pai quat
it was good but not mindblowingly good… surprisingly a lot of meat in there and very few bones
daan tart
dessert time! yay yay yay mmm flaky pastry
bolo bao
mmm custard goodness with hidden pineapple pieces
tee hee this lady headed straight to our table with this trolley and we’re like woah peking duck? we didnt order that! turns out you can order 1 a plate for small size at yum cha
and then we see this giant watermelon whoosh past our table. i think it had jelly in it
last but not least mango pudding!
ive never been allowed to have this when i eat with my family and boy its tasty!

NOW. the question is. would you buy them? im thinking of selling them $10-$15 not incl postage.
all candy on hairclips have been dipped in protective coating so they shouldnt melt (if they do you get free exchange), you can choose your colours, colour order, mix up the party mix… if enough people are interested ill set up a online shop which might feature clay food if ive got the time lol
