it was mooncake day yesterday! mmm mooncake how i love the salty golden eggs hidden away in the lotus paste… and also happy 6 years noods! we went to dinner at guillame at bennelong so fotos will be up later but for now some more awesome quotes by noods:
how would YOU like it if your ears were inside out???
this rhubarb tastes like an orange on a stick.
isnt tea just decaf coffee?
i just dont like any kind of cake with fruit in it… except fruitcake.
so tea comes from leaves of a plant? so is the plant called tea?
hehe i loooove you!

On each table there are these tiny buzzers to press if youre unable to get the waiters attention however a smiley waiter would magically appear before i could even press it! Top service i just really wanted to push a button! haha i like buttons…
Sashimi Sashimi 9pieces ($11.50). Fat slices of silky smooth sashimi gone in 10seconds into my hungry hungry hippo stomach
Scallop Shell ($9.80). Look at all that cheese smothering goodness! Hiding under the creamy cheese layer were soft tender scallops snuggling together
Beef Tataki ($9.80). Thin slices of beautifully tasty meat surrounding a giant pile of raw onion… It was a little odd the hugeness of that pile but was soon forgotten when the melt in the mouth slices disappeared quickly.
Crab Cream Croquettes ($9.80). These sounded really interesting on the menu and the first coupla bites were good the batter was pleasantly crispy crunchy with the slightly tangy mayo but when theyve cooled down a bit i kinda felt like i was eating mashies from kfc… You know? Like when you bite into something and then all you get is a mouthful of non textured food? Hmm.
Wagyu Steak ($27.50). The STAR! The wagyu at Yumei is now officially the best wagyu we’ve had especially for that price! It doesnt look like much from this pic but it was so incredibly delicious that we ordered another before we were even halfway thru mmm wagyu
noods’ fishy i think was mackeral ($13) it was ok the skin was crispy and very tasty but there was way too many bones get the wagyu!
Bento Box ($22.90). I was a lil upset at the tiny tiny piece of eel cos dammit i like my eel! But anyways i liked the variety in my bento box especially the 4 rectangles of agedashi tofu on the top right corner mmm i like my tofu! The gyozas were crispy, the scoop of mash was hiding some vegies, the sashimi was perfect and not the offcuts like some other places use, the sushi rolls were ok i wouldve liked meat or something else in them and not just cucumber and the bento box also came with a bowl of miso soup and a bowl of salad
In case you havent realised this post is 2 visits to Yumei condensed into 1… haha no way could we eat so much! Anyways on the first visit we were told that they had just finished renovating the restaurant and we were given 2 complimentary bowls of vanilla bean icecream.
And we got free pens! With compasses attached…
On the second visit we watched as noone were given pens. No pens meant no free icecream we thought so we were debating whether or not we were too full to PAY for icecream at passionflower when the smiley waiter appeared to take our plates away and then asked if were wanted free icecream hehe thank you smiley waiter you made my day! Lookit our bowl! Black sesame icecream with a dollop of whipped cream, a spoonful of red beans hiding behind and a sprinkle of honey coated cornflakes mmm
Iso Lounge Restaurant- Norwest Business Park
Iso Lounge Restaurant- (Norwest Central Shop G02/8 Century Circuit Norwest Business Park, Baulkham Hills). Congratulations to Iso Lounge for winning the 2007 Hills Hospitality Award the food is fantastic a lil pricey but great for that special occasion.
On previous visits it was always a gamble coming to eat here sometimes the food was lovely but the service shocking and viceversa but in the 3 years since it opened Iso Lounge (Norwest Central Shop G02/8 Century Circuit Norwest Business Park, Baulkham Hills), has grown up from the wobbley todler to the fun loving and mature adult and a congratulations is in order for winning the 2007 Hills Hospitality Award!

Fruit Tingle heehee its so colourful!
complimentary cauliflower shots mmm we love free food!
Seared Scallops with confit Duck and bordalaise sauce ($30). The scallops were huuuge and plump and the duck was all crispy delicious skin on the outside and tender juicy meat on the inside. I just wished the duck was a tad bigger because i love my duck!
Slow roast Pork Belly on a chilli and crisp onion colcannon ($27). Can you feel the crispy golden pork crackle calling to your crying stomach as you carefully pry the perfect layer away saving it for lucky last and slicing into the soft tasty meat with the perfect amount of fat to meat ratio and reaching the creamy mashlike colcannon…
Rhubarb and vanilla creme Brulee ($14). The creme brulee was perfect not hot and not fridge cold, the gorgeously caramelised shards of sugar protecting the creamy custard speckled with vanilla bean with rhubarb compote hiding on the bottom. The little bowl of candied rhubarb stalks would have been made more awesome if there was a dollop of cream because cream makes everything taste more awesome!
Chocolate and Hazelnut Parfait with a poached Carella Pear ($14). Noods liked this since he likes parfait anything heh “its like icecream!”
Service was lovely the managers stopped what they were doing to greet us like long lost friends and the food was excellent the pork belly was the star of the night. It can be a bit chilly what with the weather unable to decide if it wants to be spring or hold onto winter so bring a jacket and a huge appetite!
thanks guys
