I’m not the biggest connoisseur of pizza, but I know what I like, and Pizza Bros in the rooftop of the Imperial Hotel in Erskineville has stolen my heart.
We started with the Cacio E Pepe which has a base of fior di latte and double cream and scattered with sharp pecorino and parmesan, and then hit with the earthy punch of black truffle.
Next up was the Marty Salami with thin, beautiful slices of LP’s salami cotto, perfect with the olives and fiery chilli.
My eyes were bigger than my stomach but I just had to order the Sassy Sausage with crumbled pork and fennel sausage scattered across the base with pockets of ricotta. And of course I couldn’t resist adding on the burrata to create pure pizza heaven.

Our favourite cozy date night spot is By Sang in Zetland because of their use of the freshest produce and beautifully balanced flavours.
The nigiri are a must order, my faves are always the salmon belly, tuna and the scampi where the heads are deep fried to a satisfying cronch. The unagi and of course the fluffy tamago.
The Petunia ocean trout ceviche is a must order with cubes of cucumber, a hit of zingy wasabi cream and freshly grated horseradish and irresistible crunch of hand cut potato chips.
The skin on the 7 day aged duck breast has been rendered to a glorious crisp and the juicy meat is glazed with a sweet and savoury teriyaki sauce.
The Maruya Station full blood wagyu steak flank has a melt in the mouth richness, the flavour intensified by the konbu butter jus and brightened by the vibrant chimmichurri served on the side.
