Its been more than a year since the last meetup and it has been way overdue with the recent flood of bright-eyed food loving bloggers on the scene. Christie from the awesome Fig & Cherry organised our shindig and it was great to meet (and re-meet): helen from Grab Your Fork, lorraine from Not Quite Nigella, jen from jenius, qingling and howard from Eat Show and Tell, reem from i am obsessed with food, belle and william from Ooh, look, lisa from Spicy Icecream and kathryn from Limes and Lycopene. as the food arrived there was a slight pause and some sheepish grins as we whipped out our cameras before diving in

yum cha at east ocean (421 – 429 Sussex St, Haymarket). service was chirpy and the trolley ladies were slightly bemused as our table raced to be the first to take a photo of the dimsum they had just placed on our table

heh i took photos of the savoury food but uh i was alot more interested in the desserts =D funny how theyre all yellow it’s like im back in my high school yellow food phase again… we didnt order the watermelon holding fruit salad but it looked so pretty being wheeled out on the trolley… a giant thanks to belle and william for ordering me the thousand layer cake! for nearly 10 years i have been looking for this ‘cake’! more of the texture of a steamed bun but with layers of sweet dough alternating with a slightly salty egg custard ah good times

and as is tradition, a photo of all us… from behind! for those not wanting our identity revealed heh i dunno about everyone else but i was still smiling when the waiter took this shot of our behinds…
it was great to meet everyone! hope we get together soon dudes!

Hi, I’d like to suggest our restaurant for you next meet up venue. You can enjoy fresh seafood dumpling, as we are located just above the fishmarket :)
