Iso Lounge
Iso Lounge, Baulkham Hills
Went for dinner at Iso Lounge (Shop 2/8 Century Circuit, Norwest Business Park Baulkham Hills) a while ago I signed up to the Iso Lounge email newsletter and they’d just sent me their new autumn menu and the desserts sounded fantastic so we ventured forth and were seated by a polite n cheerful girl who bought us free appetisers of chilli pork meatballs.
For mains I ordered the Cashew Chicken- filled with cashews and parmesan on an array of chargrilled vegetables with pesto dressing ($28).
Mmm I love pesto! The chicken was soft and juicy and the skin crispy and the pesto was just the right amount of pesto-iness and I love rocket! the eggplant and zucchini maybe not so much tho.
Noods ordered the Saffron and Lime Goat- with tomato chutney, mango salsa, pita bread and cumin scented rice ($27).
Noods likes trying different things unlike me but I dont think he particularly liked this altho he liked the salsa which was both sweet and sour.
Dessert time! The major reason we came! I ordered the Mini Croquembouche -toffeed profiteroles with chocolate sauce and king island cream ($14).
Haha I love the word croquembouche! Doesn’t it just make you think about a tower of profiteroles filled with creamy custardy goodness?
Noods ordered the Poached Pear- red wine and star anise poached pear with honeycomb and egyptian fairy floss ($11)
Hehe doesn’t it look like the pear has hair mmm the fairy floss tastes like turkish fairy floss- nutty and the honeycomb just melted in your mouth!

went to drop jane off to be fixed yesterday after lunch and me and noods ended up walking around aimlessly for a couple of hours when we stumbled on Bread Story (cnr Goulburn and Sussex st). i love looking at the weird creations all asian bakeries have and this place definitely lived up to expectations with weird names to go with their baked goods such as hi kitty and hero among the more normal names! the leaflet i stole boasted that they bake every 3hours which was certainly true when me and noods bought the durian puff onli to return for moreeee later.
by the way if you want your scrummy goods in a box it costs a dollar. uh huh a whole dollar but its worthwhile becos they look so pretty all snuggled in there dont you think? and also the cream wont get squished in the bag which is what happened on our first visit and encounterd the plastic bag…
in here we have durian puffs, a chocolate hero, a taro swirly thing and a peanut butter pastry. ive forgotten the names but will edit later when i find out.
i got hungry but wanted something nice and soft and unchewy and got my usual hot potato with extra garlic butter, lots of cheese and sour cream
we also made a pit stop at ichibanboshi for noods to get his chance at trying the tonkatsu ramen and it was every bit as good as Augustus Gloop said it was and more
ohhhh collagen you are soooo yummy but soooo fatty and bad for my heart…

had lunch with noods and the parentals at Temasek (71 George St, Parramatta next to the Roxy).
featuring: my brother!
id been there the week before and my god was the service shocking! the lady at the front was grumpy as hell and wouldnt seat us for ages and the tables were squished together and it was very very cramped. we werent very impressed especially since this place has been rated pretty highly and some of the things we ordered tasted ordinary but very spicy. but on our return visit my dad made a point of befriending the head waiter dude which made a heck of a difference when it came to our rice and drink refills. the parentals ordered the lunch banquet menu for 4 ppl minus me and i cant realli comment if these were any good becos of my lack of chewing but noods gives it a thumbs up even tho it was so spicy lol
first up came the hainan chicken
followed by the lemongrass pork
and then the kangkung
and finally the best omelette in the world! the oyster omelette with chestnut flour!
mmm look at those globules of oysters… soft and juicy…
all up it was less than $60 for 5 ppl and i will be back again as soon as i can chew!
