back from the land of cheap shopping, tasty eats and crazy cabbies and oh how i miss the warm weather… ive got a truckload of pics i want to share but for now im still unpacking and sleeping and eating my snacks…

2nite (fri 12th) ill be at epping markets (Our Lady Help of Christians School, 8 Cambridge Street, Epping) 5pm-9pm. its their 1st bday anniversary but with the way prices of groceries and everything going up it will most likely be the last market that i will be selling cupcakes at so do drop by for a chat if youre in the area =D

4.5hr flight from Singapore to Darwin.. 2.5hrs transit before another 4.5hr flight to Sydney.. It feels like my brain is shrivelling from consumption of airport food. Surprisingly jetstars food is decent- I had a ricotta ravioli. Too bad the seats are so bloody uncomfortable hmpf

Say it with me. Ban-off-eeeee. Chant it! Banoffee! BANOFFEE! i had a craving for something sweet and with a truckload of cream and didnt particularly feel like eating tiramisu and so a quick google search for the easiest banoffee recipe i could find from the carnation website here and 2 hours later behold!


mmm THE best dessert in the world! Want some pics to go with that recipe? My method was a little different at the end but hey do whatever floats your boat. ok ready here we go!


To make the banoffee base: process the biscuits until fine crumbs then tip into a bowl. Stir in the melted butter.

Press the mixture into the base and if you want go up the sides of the tin (i didn’t partly becos i wanted less base ratio and also i didn’t think i had enough biscuits). Chill the base while you make the filling.


To make the cheat’s filling place the butter and sugar into a non-stick saucepan over a low heat, stirring until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves. Add the condensed milk and bring gently to the boil, stirring continuously to make the caramel. As soon as it thickens, remove from the heat. For the dulce de leche recipe click here


Spread the filling over the biscuit base and leave to chill for about 1 hour until firm.


Slice bananas thinly and arrange over filling. i had about 3 layers of bananas becos i like bananas.


Spoon the whipped cream over the bananas, sift a little cocoa powder and tadah!

after our hot chocolate pit-stop everyone left to grab some cheese while me and noods went to hunter valley gardens. the attendant dude told us the gardens would be closed in 30mins and i cheekily asked if we could get a discount on the entry since they were gonna close soon but the dude shook his head and i shrugged brought out my wallet while asking if we’d be able to make it to the storybook gardens in time. he passed us a map and told us itd only take about 7mins to get there and as he went to type on the register he pauses and asks if thats the only part of the garden we were going to. i nod and he smiles and goes ill let you guys thru just dont tell my boss heh thank you super nice garden dude! you saved us 40bux and we were very happy!

little miss muffet sat on her tuffet eating her curds and whey along came a spider who sat down beside her and frightened miss muffet away

humpty dumpty sat on a wall humpty dumpty had a great fall all the king’s horses and all the king’s men couldnt put humpty together again

hey diddle diddle the cat and the fiddle the cow jumped over the moon the little dog laughed to see such a sight and the dish ran away with the spoon

look who i found! gingerbread men!

gingerbread house! it was actually for bathrooms but wouldnt it have been awesome if they sold candy?

georgie porgie pudding and pie kissed the girls and made them cry when the boys came out to play georgie porgie ran away

jack and jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water jack fell down and broke his crown and jill came tumbling after

wee willie winkie runs through the town up stairs and down stairs in his night-gown tapping at the window crying at the lock “are the children in their bed, for it’s now ten o’clock?”
