A tweet about my over-supply of cheeses from Hunter Valley led to an impromptu cheese party at my place. When asked what to bring along my answer of “prosciutto!” saw Helen, Lex, Minh, Richard and Simon bringing a small truckload of porky products

Simon can always be counted on for doing his research- going above and beyond the call of duty and travelling all around Sydney in search of tasty goods. Super thanks for all the prosciutto dude!

BABIES! Look at all the porky babies! My heart weeps with joy at such a beautiful sight! i stole the text from Helen (thanks Helen!):
* AC Butchery, Leichhardt – Prosciutto Crudo made locally and cured for at least 9 months
* Hudson Meats, Surry Hills – Prosciutto San Daniele and Jamon Iberico ($295/kg)
* Pino’s Dolce Vita, Kogarah – Prosciutto made locally from Sweet Bangalow Pork
* Talho Portuguese Butchery, Petersham – Presunto
* Portugese Spanish Butchery, Petersham – Presunto
* Terry White, Randwick – Jamon Serrano and Jamon Iberico ($395/kg)
We were unanimous in our love for the jamon iberico- silky smooth and a flavour so rich that i had to close my eyes and savour. Helen, Lex and Richard had also brought along some prosciutto but uh i dont seem to have any photos of the second platter my bad and um there was bread! And rockmelon! And strawberries lol i am fail

After a dinner at Sahara and massive amounts of prosciutto we barely made a dent in the cheeses! And yes i picked the pink cheese because it was pink…

The presunto from Talho Butchery was pretty salty and in a pork induced haze we started joking about frying it. Chef Lex was up to the challenge and promised he wouldn’t burn my house down.

CRISPY! Oh baby oh baby! Why does frying make things so much tastier!

lol random shot of us taking photos and richard being ninja!
Sahara, Parramatta

There’s just something about the smell of char grilled meats that makes me want to shake my club and roar… Sahara (Shop 2185 Cnr Church & Argyle St, Parramatta) is my local that i go to to partake in juicy smokey meats on skewers cooked over a charcoal grill. The promise of cheese and prosciutto at my house later on has lured out Helen, Lex, Minh, Richard and Simon to my neck of the woods.

Mezze dips platter served with crisp garlic herb pide bread ($14.90). After the majority of the group manage to get lost we are late to start eating and when the dips platter arrive we set upon scooping and slathering the dips onto the bread. I’m disappointed that the beetroot dip wasn’t available but the spinach dip is tasty enough to make up for lack of beetroot dip.

Diablo chilli garlic prawns ($16.90). The prawns arrive to oohs and ahhs but sadly was pretty devoid of all forms of chilli and garlic.

Kusbasi shish ($22.90)- Skewered and bbq tender lamb backstrap marinated in Sahara’s famous herbs and spices served with authentic salad, pilaf rice and aioli. We also ordered the Adana shish ($21.90) but for the life of me both looked the same in my photos. They definitely tasted different but my photo skills are fail. I liked the Adana shish which was lamb mince instead of pieces and were juicier than the kusbasi.

Lamb cutlets ($26.90). The lamb cutlets arrive and our group of six eye the 5 cutlets warily before Minh is given the job of cutting the lamb off the cutlet and cutting into equal portions. The girls then steal the bones and gnaw away hoho

Authentic dondurma ($11). Not wanting to stuff ourselves in preparation of the cheese and meats that was to come we decided to order one dessert between us all to share lol the waitress was tops tho she just smiled and asked if we wanted 6 spoons. The icecream is not as chewy as i expected. I think i thought there would be threads of icecream haha

Turkish apple tea ($3). The tea arrives and boy it is freaking hot! But ah so sweeeeet

I like my tshirt heh it says video games ruined my life good thing i have 2 extra lives 😀

Can you imagine a whole tub filled with Pringles?
Nuffnang.com is presenting the first ever Asia-Pacific Blog Awards! Of course apart from the finalists going to Singapore not every blogger can go and so we need to create an entry to win our golden ticket to the awards. So here’s my entry dudes- Theme C: It’s Krrunch Time, Get Playful- at home.

Bath time. Bored of the normal routine?

But wait look what we have here- a can of Pringles! I have an idea that will put some Krrunch in my life!

BWAHAHAHAHHAHAA!!! Along with my dream of biting into a whole mooncake I have now fulfilled my dream of being covered in food! Glorious glorious Pringles!

WHEEEEEEEEEE! Took me and the boy about 3 hours of filling the tub with Pringles and taking photos not to mention the clean up. But wheeeeeee! Can you imagine a whole tub filled with Pringles? The sight and smell of a whole mountain of Pringles on top of me was crazy! Kept wanting to eat them by the handful! Which i may have done 😛

Heh. Cucumber slices Pringles for the eyes and I’m in heaven 😀

Hoho hope you guys liked the pics cos I’m not filling my tub with food ever again.
