easter show 2010

  9 April 2010

OH HAI. i love the Easter Show. Every year i impatiently await the arrival of Easter, my most favourite eating holiday, where hot cross buns and giant chocolate bunnies are displayed in all their shiny glory. But best of all is knowing that deep fried cheese on a stick will soon be miiiiiine! Helen and I arrive bright and early on Easter Monday and immediately look for breakfast

Biting through the crisp and slightly sweet bready coating and into a warm gooey centre of molten cheese is such bliss. And all for $4!

Bwahaha stretchy! Somehow i only manage to eat 2 cheese on a sticks this year failing to reach my target of 3 ah wells there’s always next year 😀

We spot a trail of people chortling as they take in the sight of these 3 ducks decked out in their finest and guarded by a sheepdog (or should that be duckdog?)

Pumpkins galore! The Ronald McDonald pumpkin head is pretty creepy. Though there is a clown pumpkin head which is even creepier.

We wander through the Woolworths Fresh Food Dome and stop and laugh at the Central District’s awesome display “Art feeds the mind, farmers feed the future” super lol at the holey cow and the corn-ed beef!

What is the Easter Show without a toffee apple ($3)?

Managed to find Nood’s favourite food in the whole world- Jim’s Jerky ($15/4packets)

Swung by Le’ Spice and scored an awesome bbq spice kit (thanks dudes!)

Hullo hungry jacks mr cow

Best cake ever! The label on the bottle says ‘Login ever 3-4 hours may cause procrastination’ heh and we couldn’t believe the awesome Annie Lo did not score a ribbon this year with many around us guffawing as soon as they saw the facebook pills lol tech generation

Hee how cute are the potatoes!

Baked potato ($7.95). That wodge of sour cream was massive!

How much wood would a wood chuck chop if a wood chuck could chop wood

Devonshire tea at the CWA Tea Room ($7). i managed to score an extra tub of cream and stole Helen’s 2nd packet of jam heh heh i like my scone toppings slathered thickly oh baby

Twisted fries ($9) are a jumble of crispy crunchy curly slivers of tastyness. And then Helen drowned them in tomato sauce.

Determined to get good seats for the lunch time Robosaurus feature we arrived an hour early and watched the Toyota V6 HiLux Heroes zoom around the track which admittedly got the heart pumping with every rev. i particularly loved the bit when the cars ‘danced’ in unison

Showtime Yamaha Freestyle Motox display. The bikies were crazy! Crazy names for every stunt like No Hands Suicide!

By now the stands are packed and every seat on the grassy hill taken. The moment everyone has been waiting for- ROBOSAURUS!

When i told Noods i was going to the Show his eyes lit up and immediately asked if i was going to see Truckosaurus heh heh he loves his Simpsons

It was a little odd watching something as massive as Robosaurus make its way around the track passing the equestrian bars which were set up for the next show.

But we managed to watch Robosaurus again at the night showing which was much more entertaining and the grounds had been packed up. Ooh fire! Crush that car Robosaurus!

RAWR!

Um. i like hats with giant eyes. The bumblebee beanie ($20) was from Kids World and seemed to be the theme of this year’s Show along with the koala, panda and monkey beanies.

Helen scores a giant fluffy dice after playing a poker game. She laughs in delight at winning a prize before realising holding a giant plush toy while taking photos was gonna be difficult

Surprisingly i made it through the show bag pavilion without buying any show bags. And then i spy a ninja turtle backpack at World Bazaar. Also how huge is that Kermit!?
